Technical Specifications
The TYMP 4000 M is a PC diagnostic module by HOMOTH Medizinelektronik GmbH & Co KG, designed for full-automatic impedance measurement. It connects via a USB interface and requires a Pentium PC with a minimum of 500 MHz, USB 2.0 port, and Windows 98, ME, 2000, or XP. It complies with standards EN 60601 - 1 / 1-1 / 1-2 / MPG.
Measurement Capabilities
The device operates with a probetone of 226 Hz at 85 dB SPL, a pressure range of +200 to -400 daPa, and a pressure delta of 300 daPa/sec. It measures compliance in 2 seconds and can test reflex tones at 500, 1000, 2000, and 4000 Hz at 85, 95, and 105 dB HL. Reflex recognition and pressure calibration are automatic.
Design and Usability
The TYMP 4000 M is designed for ease of use in both clinical and practice settings, particularly effective for children and restless patients. It allows for one-handed operation, enabling the practitioner to steady the patient's head. The probe is held against the outer ear, with a two-colored lamp indicating correct fitting. The device measures ipsi- and contralateral stapedius reflexes while maintaining middle ear pressure.
Data Management
Measurement data and curves can be stored on a hard disk or transmitted to practice software. The device dimensions are 290 mm width, 270 mm depth, and 125 mm height. Accessories include a probe with cable, ear plugs, headphone DT 48 A, probe holder, and instruction manual.
Additional Features
The device features a quiet syringe pump for air pressure and offers automatic or manual changeover between right and left ear measurements. It is powered by mains 230 V.
