Product catalog summary
Background
Oxygen concentrators are essential for patients with respiratory issues, enhancing oxygen absorption by purifying air and increasing oxygen content to over 90%. They utilize sieve bed filters with Zeolite to remove nitrogen. These devices are applicable in hospitals, homes, and portable settings.

Solutions
Honeywell provides sensors and switches for oxygen concentrators to control pressure and airflow, detect failures, and enhance performance. Key components include:
  • Pressure Sensors: Board Mount (MicroPressure MPR, Basic ABP Series) and Heavy Duty (MIP, MLH Series) for monitoring and controlling air and oxygen flow.
  • Airflow Sensors: AWM90000 Series for detecting patient inhalation to optimize oxygen delivery.
  • Oxygen Sensors: OOMLF Series for measuring oxygen concentration, compliant with RoHS II and ISO standards.
  • Magnetic Sensors: SS360/SS460 Series for motor control, reducing noise and vibration.
  • Switches: Basic and AML Pushbutton Switches for operational controls and safety features.
  • Pressure Switches: LP, LE, and 5000 Series for high-pressure warnings and safety shutdowns.

Technical Specifications
  • Pressure Sensors: Various ranges and outputs, including digital and analog, with high accuracy and temperature compensation.
  • Airflow Sensors: Bi-directional sensing, low pressure drop, and fast response time.
  • Oxygen Sensors: High accuracy, low signal drift, and resistance to common gas interferences.
  • Magnetic Sensors: Fast response, high sensitivity, and wide voltage range.
  • Switches: Sealed against fluids, high current capacity, and various configurations.
  • Pressure Switches: Configurable with smart diagnostics and multiple port options.

Warranty and Safety
Honeywell offers a warranty against defects, with repair or replacement options. Users must ensure proper installation and compliance with safety standards to prevent injury.

SOLUTIONS FOR OXYGEN CONCENTRATORS Sensors and Switches Application Note Oxygen concentrators reduce the level of nitrogen in the air, and increase the oxygen level. BACKGROUND Oxygen concentrators are used to assist patients with respiratory illnesses or lung disease, who have difficulties in absorbing oxygen into the bloodstream. Honeywell manufactures many sensors and switches that may be used in oxygen concentrators. Our solutions are designed to help control pressure and airflow, detect failures, enhance equipment performance and efficiency and act as a high pressure warning within the oxygen concentrator. (See Figure 1.) An oxygen concentrator receives air, purifies it and then distributes the newly formed air. Typically, air is composed of 80 percent nitrogen and 20 percent oxygen. An oxygen concentrator increases the oxygen content to over 90 percent. Sieve bed filters contain Zeolite, which removes the nitrogen from the air. Oxygen concentrators can be used in hospitals, home and some devices are portable. SOLUTIONS FOR OXYGEN CONCENTRATOR APPLICATIONS • Pressure Sensors – Board Mount • Pressure Sensors – Heavy Duty • Airflow Sensors • Oxygen Sensors • Magnetic Sensors • Basic and AML Switches • Pr

AIRFLOW SENSORS OXYGEN SENSORS MAGNETIC SENSORS OOMLF Series • Monitor a patient’s breathing to detect when the patient inhales, so that oxygen is only supplied when required and isn’t wasted. This helps to minimize the overall system size by supplying oxygen only when required • Measure and control oxygen concentration level of the air delivered to the patient • Control motors and sense motor speed The AWM90000 Series (see Table 2) is designed to detect ultra-low flow levels at 0,1 cm3. This enhanced sensitivity may be used to detect when the patient exhales and when the system should reduce...
