CARDIOMYOCYTE ISOLATION SYSTEMS

CARDIOMYOCYTE ISOLATION SYSTEMS

Product catalog summary
Overview
The document provides detailed information on cardiomyocyte isolation systems designed for small rodent hearts, specifically from mice to small rabbits. It covers two main systems: the EasyCell Simple Cell Extraction System and the PSCI Perfusion System for Cell Isolation.
EasyCell Simple Cell Extraction System
  • Design Features: A simple constant flow perfusion system for isolating cardiomyocytes, adaptable for other small rodent organs. It is easy to set up, operate, and maintain.
  • Temperature Control: Includes a water-jacketed heat exchanger and heart chamber to maintain physiological temperature.
  • Pulsation Dampening: An air vessel/compliance chamber dampens perfusion pressure pulsation, serving as a bubble trap to prevent air emboli.
  • Operation: The system uses a single perfusion pathway compatible with ethanol for disinfection. It involves perfusing the heart with a warmed, aerated buffer followed by a protease solution for tissue disintegration.
  • Included Items: The system includes various components such as a base stand, bubble trap, heating coil, protease reservoir, heart chamber, thermocirculator, and peristaltic pump.
PSCI Perfusion System for Cell Isolation
  • Design Features: A dual perfusion system for blood cell flushing and enzymatic digestion, compatible with ethanol disinfection. It has a low priming volume to conserve collagenase and minimize temperature loss.
  • Perfusion Hub: Ensures thermal stability and laminar flow with bubble traps to prevent air emboli.
  • Operation: The system releases individual cells through enzyme solution perfusion. It includes a jacketed heart chamber and a custom changeover stopcock for switching between clearing and collagenase buffers.
  • Included Items: The core system includes a base unit, thermocirculator, glass reservoir, tube set, peristaltic pump, magnetic stirrer, and aortic cannula.
Applications
  • Both systems are used for cardiomyocyte isolation and can be adapted for other organs such as liver for hepatocyte isolation.
Ordering Information
  • Details on product numbers and descriptions for ordering the EasyCell and PSCI systems are provided, with options for different voltage requirements.

PSCI PERFUSION SYSTEM FOR CARDIOMYOCYTE ISOLATION PSCI Perfusion System for Cell Isolation PSCI Perfusion System for Cardiomyocyte Isolation Operation The PSCI works such that individual cells are released from the tissue stucture through perfusion with enzyme solution and are then flushed out. For cardiomyocyte isolation, a jacketed heart chamber is mounted on a slide which is clamped to the vertical column. A slow gas flow into this chamber ensures a positive pressure inside the heart chamber at all times, thus preventing ingress of bacteria from the surroundings during operation. The cardiomyocytes...
