Hydrofera Blue READY and Hydrofera Blue READY-Transfer dressings are designed for managing bioburden with broad-spectrum antibacterial protection. They are available with or without a waterproof film backing and can be worn for up to 7 days without requiring hydration prior to application.
The dressings provide broad-spectrum antibacterial protection using two organic pigments, methylene blue and gentian violet, and are noncytotoxic. They are effective against a wide range of bacteria, including MRSA, VRE, and various strains of Streptococcus, Pseudomonas, and Candida.
Hydrofera Blue READY dressings absorb and retain bacteria-laden exudate, while the READY-Transfer variant facilitates high exudate transfer to a secondary dressing. This feature enhances exudate management options, especially for wounds with heavy drainage.
In vitro testing shows that Hydrofera Blue READY foam dressings have absorption rates comparable to other antimicrobial foam dressings. The READY-Transfer dressings demonstrate a high rate of exudate transfer to secondary dressings.
The dressings are available in various sizes and configurations, including standard, heavy drainage, and moisture-retentive film options. Each product is identified by a stock number and associated with specific HCPCS codes for reference.
