WHICH IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PERCUTANEOUS NEUROMODULATION TECHNIQUE? The ecoguided percutaneous neuromodulation (NMP, is a minimally invasive technique which consists on the placement of needles close to the peripheral nerve and the application of a series of electrical currents, type PENS or PENS BURST, using a medical device that allows the professional to set different parameters such as: frequency, pulse width and intensity obtaining an electrical signal in a selective and effective way. The versatility of this technique allows the health professional to address the peripheral nervous system. When we stimulate the nerves, we try to modulate the abnormal behavior of the neural pathway caused by the disease, diminishing pain and improving neurological motor control.
