NMP Percutaneous Neuromodulation technique - 1

WHICH IS THE OBJECTIVE OF THE PERCUTANEOUS NEUROMODULATION TECHNIQUE? The ecoguided percutaneous neuromodulation (NMP, is a minimally invasive technique which consists on the placement of needles close to the peripheral nerve and the application of a series of electrical currents, type PENS or PENS BURST, using a medical device that allows the professional to set different parameters such as: frequency, pulse width and intensity obtaining an electrical signal in a selective and effective way. The versatility of this technique allows the health professional to address the peripheral nervous system. When we stimulate the nerves, we try to modulate the abnormal behavior of the neural pathway caused by the disease, diminishing pain and improving neurological motor control. TREATMENT OF THE PERIPHERAL NERVOUS SYSTEM TO DICREASE PAIN The application of this technique must be ecoguided in order to introduce the needle and apply the treatment in an accurate and effective way. CAN BE USED IN COMBINATION WITH OTHER TECHNIQUES WHAT IS NMP PERCUTANEOUS NEUROMODULATION? It is a minimally invasive neuromodulation technique addressed to the peripheral nervous system that applies a low frequency current close to the nervous system. SPEEDS UP RECOVERY TIME The objective is to electrically stimulate the peripheral nerve and modulate the abnormal behavior of the neural pathway caused by the disease. By using this technique, we improve the muscle functioning and we generate an analgesic effect. REDUCES DRUG USE The Percutaneous Neuromodulation is a relatively new and pioneer technique in Spain. TREATMENT FIELDS USING NEUROMODULATION The neuromodulation opens a new treatment model inside the electrostimulation field, both at a peripheral level and minimally invasive with the NMP technique and at a central level and non-invasive with the tDCS technique. The neuromodulation becomes an alternative treatment with extensive medical evidence for different diseases and pathologies. The NMP percutaneous neuromodulation, a technique to address the peripheral nervous system. Treatment of the acute and chronic pain coming from the musculoskeletal system: spine, postoperative, neuropathic,...
