Synchronization Redefined NOT RELEASED BY THE FDA FOR MARKETING WITHIN THE UNITED STATES Cardiac/Respiration Trigger Monitor The Model 7810 with Respiration is Ivy Biomedical’s fifth generation of cardiac trigger monitors providing gating outputs for both ECG R-wave peaks and for user selectable points in the respiratory cycle. Respiratory gating produces better quality scans by enabling technicians to pinpoint and remove blurry image slices which were obtained during periods of chest movement. Respiration gating can be used by some scanners to prospectively avoid scanning to reduce total radiation exposure. Intuitive Operation Acquiring a trigger ECG can often be challenging task, and selecting the right ECG vector can be problematic. The Model 7810 includes an AUTO lead select feature (Trigger lead only). When se- lected, this feature will determine which lead (I, II or III) provides for the best signal amplitude-to-noise ratio of the ECG signal and thus a more reliable cardiac trigger. The Model 7810 also has special hardware and software that measures skin to electrode impedance, ensuring a reliable scan. The Model 7810 is available with or without an integrated strip chart recorder. Integrated Design The hardware design incorporates a simple, easy to use touchscreen interface displaying two waveforms; the top waveform is dedicated as the Trigger ECG vector and can be selected from Leads I, II III or Auto Lead Select. The bottom waveform can be either a Second ECG vector (Leads I, II, or III) or a Respiration waveform. If required, High and Low heart rate alarm limits can be adjusted to bracket the patient’s heart rate so that a violation of these limits produces an audible and visual indication of the alarm. Respiratory Acquisition The 7810 utilizes a pneumatic technique which responds to the expansion of the chest during respiration. A foam filled pillow is attached to the patient with a elasticized strap, and the air pressure changes as the chest moves and compresses the pillow. World-Class Cardiac Triggering Respiratory Cycle Side Input Connector Panel A color Trigger mark clearly indicates the timing of each synch pulse with respect to the ECG, providing a visual reference for timing and synchronization. The ECG Menu shown above provides technicians with options and preferences for optimal cardiac gating. Trigger marks indicate the peaks of the inspiration and expiration respiration waveform. The Respiration waveform is displayed in yellow, and red during trigger time. Synchronized trigger output starts at the peak of the inspiration waveform and can be delayed...
