The Melissa Parad overlay is a pressure-relieving mattress which is placed on top of another foam mattress. It can aid the prevention and treatment of pressure ulcers up to and including Category 3. The mattress, which is reversible and rotatable, has a height of 6cm and is made of high-quality, highly elastic Hypersoft foam (45kg/m3), providing both comfort and pressure relief at the same time. The bi-elastic hygiene cover, in combination with the well-selected high-quality core, reduces the risk of shear. The mattress core is specially designed to provide relief to protruding body parts such as shoulders, heels and elbows. The mattress is also suitable as an underlay or spacer mattress (for example, under an air mattress). CHOOSE A HYGIENE COVER FOR YOUR MATTRESS Our RX hygiene covers are waterproof and prevent urine, blood etc. from penetrating through to the mattress core. The hygiene covers are breathable and made of a rustle-free, bi-elastic polyurethane fabric. There is a stitched zip on 3 sides to facilitate removal for washing. The RX covers are available in two variants: 6cm highly elastic Hypersoft foam 45 kg/m • RXH-5 – with handles. • RXH-5 Resår – with handles and elasticated fastening. For hygiene reasons, the zips on all covers have a protective flap Always make a risk assessment when using elastic in the case of young children. The Melissa Parad overlay mattress has undergone pressure management testing at the independent testing institute Swerea IVF. This provides an objective assessment of the pressure relief properties of the mattress. In the case of overlay mattresses, the result is affected by the base mattress used underneath. The Melissa Parad overlay mattress has been tested in combination with the Lentex Soft Euroflex mattress. See below for the results. Giving these impression bodies a load that is representative of an average human body, different mattresses and beds can be evaluated objectively using pressure mats.
