The flex pillow is used for pressure ulcer prevention and has many areas of use. The pillow can be used from the start in a patient's bed, before any redness occurs, as well as for patients where a risk of pressure ulcers is apparent. It is a complement to the prevention mattress when additional pressure ulcer prevention is required. It is very helpful for patients who are at risk of developing pressure ulcers. Can be used in patients with where redness has occurred on heels, ankles or other pressure-sensitive areas, from the lower leg down to the foot/heel. The Flex pillow is placed under the lower legs/heels with the bevelled part of the pillow up against the folds of the knees. The heels should rest against the pillow. Can be used with the heel hanging freely, but for this, a cushion or such has to be placed underneath the pillow to gain some height. A slide/slip mat can be used on top of the pillow when additional mobility is required. This will, however, reduce the pressure relieving effect slightly. Is used when patients have received spinal anaesthesia. Can also be used for patients with chronic pain, as a pressure relieving, comfortable pillow, when pain occurs in certain positions. The pillow is made of carefully selected viscoelastic foam and is available in two sizes. The bevelled pillow is for heavier users (approx. 85-130 kg) and the other one is for lighter users. Flex Pillow OUR UNIQUE SURFACE LAYER LENTEX® This product is equipped with Järven’s unique surface layer Lentex® which is laminated directly onto the foam core. This means that it has no seams or zippers. The surface layer is available only in a fresh white colour which facilitates contamination detection on the surface of the mattress. Item no.
