Product catalog summary
Overview
Mycoplasma pneumoniae is a common pathogen causing respiratory tract infections, particularly in adolescents and the elderly. It can lead to various conditions such as mycoplasma pneumonia, bronchitis, and immune hemolytic anemia, with severe cases potentially resulting in death. The treatment typically involves macrolides, but resistance to these antibiotics can delay effective treatment and worsen outcomes.

Product Description
The Mycoplasma Pneumoniae and Macrolides-Resistant Strain Nucleic Acid Test Kit is a fluorescent probe-based real-time PCR assay designed for early diagnosis and detection of macrolide resistance. This enables timely and effective antibiotic treatment, potentially improving clinical outcomes.

Product Features
  • Specificity: The test does not show reactivity with other pathogens that infect similar sites or cause similar symptoms.
  • Dual Detection: It detects both wild-type and antibiotic-resistant strains of Mycoplasma pneumoniae in a single tube.
  • Rapid and Reliable: The test provides results within 90 minutes, with the entire process from sampling to reporting completed in under 2 hours.
  • High Sensitivity: The detection limit is 500 copies/mL.
  • Anti-Contamination: The UNG/dUTP system minimizes PCR contamination, and an internal control is included to monitor the testing process and prevent false negatives.
  • Compatibility: The kit is compatible with various real-time PCR systems, including Applied Biosystems, Stratagene, and BioRad models.

Mycoplasma Pneumoniae and Macrolides-Resistant Strain Nucleic Acid Test Kit Fluorescent Probe-Based Real-Time PCR Assay M. pneumoniae is a common pathogen of respiratory tract infections in adolescents and the elderly. It can cause mycoplasma pneumonia, upper respiratory tract infection, bronchitis, pneumonia abscess, immune hemolytic anemia, etc. In severe cases, it can even lead to death. Treatment of M pneumoniae pneumonia with macrolides is widespread, the Macrolide resistant M. pneumoniae infected may lead to delay of appropriate antibiotic treatment. Delayed appropriate antimicrobial treatment, no matter macrolide resistance or not, was associated with more severe and/or prolonged diseases. Detection Significance Early diagnosis of M. pneumoniae as well as the awareness of macrolide resistance make early effective antibiotic treatment possible and may improve clinical outcomes.
