SysLoc®MINI Troubleshooting Guide Summary
1. Introduction
This document provides a troubleshooting guide for the SysLoc®MINI device by JMS North America Corporation.
2. Device Diagram
The SysLoc®MINI consists of several components including a notch, external lock, tubing, wings, and a needle rotating hub.
3. Depth of Insertion Guidelines
To prevent oozing, leave a small portion of the needle visible. Avoid inserting the needle too far as it may cause tissue spreading and unnecessary oozing.
4. Preparing for Needle Removal
Keep the last piece of tape in place until the external lock is unlocked to maintain needle stability and minimize patient discomfort.
5. Needle Removal Procedure
  • Unlocking the External Lock: Place your thumb on the external notch and your index finger on the locking mechanism. Unsnap the external lock and move it out of the way.
  • Retraction: Remove the last piece of tape. Place your thumb and middle finger on the clear plastic tubing behind the external lock. Use the fatty portion of your index finger for better control. Start retraction by pushing the index finger forward while pulling back with the thumb and middle finger. Continue pulling until an audible click is heard, indicating complete retraction. Apply hemostasis after needle retraction.
