IV Fluid Warmer Station Administering IV fluids close to body temperature has become increasingly viewed as a valuable therapeutic modality. Veterinary patients, either small in size or in possible hypo- volemic shock, benefit greatly from receiving warm IV fluids (approximately 100°F) versus room temperature (70°F) fluids. However, maintaining a ready supply of warmed fluids has been difficult. The JorVet Bullpen is an IV fluid warming station that simply maintains unopened IV fluid bags at a ready to use temperature of 100°F. Up to four one-liter bags of IV fluids can be IV fluids are simply placed on the top of the Bullpen and left for the next case needing warmed fluids. IV fluids can be left for an extended period of time (weeks) on the Bullpen, ready and warm for the next patient. The Bullpen is simple to use; just plug into a HOv outlet and turn on the power. No mainte- nance is required and it can be left on 24/7. A one liter bag takes 2 1/2 hours to reach 90°F and 6 hours to reach 100°F where it will maintain that temperature. The Bullpen works in conjunction with the JorVet "Thermal IV" (J-900). As fluids leave the Bullpen for actual use, they start to cool.
