Product catalog summary
Overview: The 7100 Terminal series, designed by Prof. Jørgen Kastholm, is a versatile bench seating system known for its architectural design and technical perfection, widely used in airports and public seating areas globally.
Design Principles: The design emphasizes territoriality, with each seat defined by gently curved seat shells.
Basic Finishes: Options include perforated steel seats, sheet steel seats, and upholstered seat pads, with polyurethane foam pads available for enhanced comfort.
Variations: The series offers 2, 3, and 4-seater benches with options for perforated steel seat shells, upholstered pads, and configurations with or without arms.
Accessories: Features include height-adjustable seats for passengers with reduced mobility, stable arms for support, and various connection options for bench configurations.
Construction and Materials: Benches are modular, using a stable stretcher bar, aluminium die-cast pedestals, and ergonomic steel seats. Upholstered pads are optional and replaceable.
Finishes: Available finishes include powder-coated steel, grained PU foam, and polished or chrome aluminium, designed to be flame retardant.
Dimensions and Weights: Detailed dimensions and specific weights are provided for various bench configurations.
Fire Prevention: The series meets international fire safety standards, with flame retardant upholstery and materials options.
Quality and Standards: Complies with multiple DIN and EN standards for strength, stability, and safety. ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 certified for quality and environmental management.
Sustainability: Environmentally certified according to ISO 14021, Type II, highlighting sustainable design and production practices.
Environmental Responsibility and Sustainability: Kusch+Co emphasizes environmental responsibility, balancing environmental protection, economics, and CSR, extending to stakeholder communication.
Quality Assurance: Certified under DIN EN ISO 9001 for quality management and DIN EN ISO 14001 for environmental management, offering a 5-year warranty.
Life Cycle:
  • Materials: Free from hazardous materials, complies with PAH standards, uses CFC- and formaldehyde-free foam, mostly solvent-free adhesives, and recyclable plastic parts. Wood products are sustainable, with no REACH candidate list substances.
  • Production: Metal coatings are VOC and heavy metal-free, with safe, corrosion-resistant chrome-plating. Waste is recycled, and wood residues are used for heating.
  • Transportation: Energy offset by space-saving packaging, reused and recycled, with a certified disposal system recycling approximately 20 tonnes of packaging annually.
  • Usage: Tested for a 12-year service life, with exchangeable and retrofittable parts for resource efficiency.
  • Waste Disposal: Terminals can be disassembled for material separation and recycling, achieving approximately 98% recyclability.
Material Composition: Models 7100/5 and 7130/5 have high recyclability rates of 98.8% and 98.6%, respectively, with significant portions of steel and aluminum. Recycled fabrics increase recyclability.
Certifications and References: PEFC certified, ensuring environmental and social compatibility. Environmental Product Declarations conform to DIN EN ISO 14021 Type II, supporting LEED certification. Used in various international airports, demonstrating global reach and reliability.
