NIA (New Ice Age Control System) This is an evolution in terms of quality regarding the management of refrigerating machines. KW has researched how to provide greater reliability to the entire system with lower power consumption, and extreme flexibility in technical solutions for systems (see TG versions) that adapt to different environmental conditions for laboratory use. Other innovations: easy to read and use even by technically non-qualified users; many opportunities to implement alarms and record work configurations and significant events to maintain the quality of stored products. KW...

• high/low internal temperature alarm: this alarm provides a pre-alarm function that, for a time determined by KW, displays the abnormal condition but does not trigger the visual/sound alarm or the remote signalling, in case there is a spontaneous correction of the issue and not to create excessive alarms for the final user. For each temperature alarm, the controller records the following data: − type of alarm - HT (high T), LT (low T), black-out (high temperature to cut off power) − critical temperature alarm: maximum for HT and blackout, minimum for LT − day/month/year/hour:minutes since...

NIA (New Ice Age Control System) • Safety Control (maximum safety in preservation). Even if the regulation sensor breaks down (NTC standard, RTD optional), the temperature of the preservation compartment does not undergo significant variations because the controller continues to run a timed thermostabilization with compressor on/off times recovered before the sensor broke down (adaptability to environmental work conditions!). . The event is stored in memory and the failure alarm is activated. • Automatic recording of the temperature and alarms (data logger function) • Disaster recovery: the...

Obstructed condenser failure, activated if the average value of the condenser’s thermal jump is greater than or equal to the value entered by KW. • Soft Smart Defrost Authorization for automatic defrosting is only given when there is frost on the evaporator, not periodically as is the norm. This results in a 3% decrease in power consumption and guarantees a more stable conservation temperature. Furthermore, in order to reduce the increase in the internal T corresponding to the defrosting stage, a function is activated that causes T to drop below the set point before the defrosting stage. It...

DATA LOGGER The NIA controllers periodically record the store-room temperature. The data can be received and transferred to a PC by means of the Data Pocket transceiver and the serial receiver. The ColdMaster supervision software allows visualizing and printing the recorded temperature data. The controller enters the records into twoT channels (if furnished with the 2-ch monitoring kit). The memory capacity allows making an entry every 20 minutes for approximately 4 months. T values can be printed as A comprehensive kit is (optionally) available for supervision, including: - IR transceiver...

Data management and visualization software Below we provide a description about possible uses of the Data Logger, which is included in the NIA controller. Data manager The program's main screen looks like the image below. Serial is the equipment's serial number. Refrigerator Store-room is the name that can be assigned each time to the recording by means of the button "Store- room name". The columns displayed have the following meanings: Set is the temperature value for the system (in °C). Adr is the number assigned to the equipment (through a special parameter). Up to 100 systems can be...

Data management and visualization software Image 2: table on recorded alarms GRAPHICAL VISUALIZATION OFTHE RECORDS It shows the set point and any incidental variations in time (black line). In the example of Image 3, the set point has been modified from -80 °C to -85 °C from around 12:00 on Temperature vs. time is visible (red line). By pressing the "Export" key it is possible to export data in either "Excel" "Text" or "Temperature" (extension .str) The "Table" key allows visualizing (and printing) the data in table format. The "Graph" button accesses the following screen: Temperature...
