MIC Test Strip

MIC Test Strip

MIC Test Strip

Product catalog summary
Overview: The MTS™ assay is a quantitative method for determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (M.I.C.) of antimicrobial agents against microorganisms and detecting resistance mechanisms. It utilizes porous strips with an antibiotic gradient, covering 15 two-fold dilutions, marked with a M.I.C. scale and antimicrobial agent code. These strips are available in various configurations and package sizes.
Specifications: MTS™ strips are designed to detect resistance mechanisms such as ESBL, MBL, GRD, AmpC, and KPC. They are available in packages of 10, 30, and 100 tests.
Method Principle: The antibiotic gradient from the strip is transferred to an inoculated agar surface. After incubation, an inhibition ellipse forms, and the M.I.C. is determined at the intersection of the ellipse edge and the strip, allowing for resistance pattern detection.
Product Range: The document details a variety of MTS™ products for antimicrobial, antimycobacterial, and antifungal susceptibility testing, each with specific concentration ranges, codes, regulatory status (CE IVD, US FDA), and packaging options.
Bibliography: References to CLSI standards and EUCAST breakpoint tables indicate compliance with established performance standards for antimicrobial susceptibility testing.
Product Specifications:
  • MTS™ Voriconazole: Range 0.002 - 32 µg/mL, available in packs of 10, 30, and 100.
  • MTS™ Synergy Application System: Includes the Synergy Applicator Platform and Delivery Tool with disposable applicators.
  • MTS™ for Antimicrobial Resistance Testing: Various combinations for detecting ESBL, MBL, KPC, AmpC, and GRD resistance, with specific µg/mL ranges and codes.
Procedures and Standards:
  • Products are marked as RUO (Research Use Only) and may require checking the package insert for FDA clearance for specific testing.
Key Data from Tables:
  • Each product is listed with its specific range, code, and packaging options.
  • MIC values are provided for various bacterial strains, indicating the minimum inhibitory concentration for effective treatment.
Distribution and Contact Information:
  • Contact details for distributors in various countries, including email addresses and websites, are provided for ordering and inquiries.
Critical Information:
  • Ensure to verify the FDA clearance for testing specific agents against isolates.
  • Availability of MTS™ products may vary by region; contact local dealers or Liofilchem headquarters for more information.

MIC Test Strip for antimicrobial susceptibility and resistance testing Liofilchem® MIC Test Strip Liofilchem® MIC Test Strip Quantitative assay for determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (M.I.C.) MTS™ is a quantitative assay for determining the Minimum Inhibitory Concentration (M.I.C.) of antimicrobial agents against microorganisms and for detecting the resistance mechanisms. MTS™ are porous strips with special features that are impregnated with a predefined concentration gradient of antibiotic, across 15 two-fold dilutions of a conventional M.I.C. method. On one side of the strip is indicated a M.I.C. scale in µg/mL and a code that identify the antimicrobial agent. For ESBL, MBL, GRD, AmpC and KPC detection, the double-sided gradient carries the appropriate diagnostic reagents. MTS™ are available in a large variety of configurations. Each configuration is available in packages of 10, 30 and 100 tests. Mixed culture on Chromatic MH MTS™ Meropenem 0.002-32 µg/mL S. aureus ATCC® 29213 MTS™ Aztreonam-Avibactam 0.016/4-256/4 µg/mL M.I.C. = 0.125 µg/mL method principle When the MTS™ is applied onto an inoculated agar surface, the preformed exponential gradient of antimicrobial agent is transferred to the agar matrix. After 18 hours incubation or longer, a symmetrical inhibition ellipse centered along the strip is formed. The MIC is read directly from the scale in terms of µg/mL at the point where the edge of the inhibition ellipse intersects the MTS™. Other growth/inhibition patterns may also be seen for resistance detection methods.
