Product catalog summary
Overview of VNS Therapy
VNS Therapy is designed to automatically deliver therapy at regular intervals to help control seizures. An optional magnet can provide additional seizure control by delivering an extra dose of stimulation when needed.

Using the VNS Therapy Magnet
The magnet should be carried at all times to respond to seizures or manage side effects. It can be used to initiate extra stimulation or temporarily suspend therapy. The magnet should be passed over the generator for less than two seconds to activate.

Functions of the VNS Therapy Magnet
  • Provides an extra dose of therapy on demand to potentially stop, shorten, or decrease the intensity of seizures.
  • Allows temporary suspension of therapy to manage side effects during activities like singing or exercising.

Precautions and Handling
  • Keep the magnet away from electronic devices and other magnets.
  • Do not drop the magnet as it can break.
  • Only use the VNS Therapy magnet with the system.

Intended Use and Indications

  • Patients should consult physicians before engaging in unsupervised activities.
  • Malfunctions may cause nerve damage; use the magnet to stop stimulation if suspected.

Precautions
  • Safety during pregnancy is not established.
  • Implantation may affect other devices like pacemakers.
  • AutoStim Mode may reduce battery life.
