U-irx The NEPTUN Plug is a resorbable, gelatin-based cement restrictor for use in the medullary canal in cemented endoprosthetics. It prevents uncontrolled migration of the bone cement and enables targeted intramedullary pressurization. This supports uniform cement distribution within the surrounding bone structure. It is available in sizes from 8 to 18 mm in 2 mm increments. Using the corresponding trial implant, the required diameter can be determined and the appropriate restrictor size selected. The corresponding insertion set enables targeted positioning of the NEPTUN Plug. The elastic biomaterial is fully resorbable within a few days at body temperature. Removal of the restrictor is therefore not required during revision procedures.
