YOULASER CO2-1

The Ablative Fractional CO2 Solution for Skin Resurfacing YOULASER CO2 The YOULASER CO2 is a state-of the-art ablative fractional laser for skin resurfacing and rejuvenation. Fractional laser technology is an extremely effective and safe way to treat patients for wrinkle reduction, all types of scarring (including acne scarring), pigmentation and dyschromia. YOULASER CO2 technology introduces a new era in laser treatments and works via an extremely precise ablative fractional photothermal interaction with the skin, enabling uniform skin regeneration and dramatic clinical improvement with minimal downtime. YOULASER CO2 The ablative fractional laser technology incorporated in the YOULASER CO2 system allows it to be used for both superficial skin conditions as well as deeper damage. Power levels, pulse widths, spot densities and scan patterns are all selectable, allowing treatments to be tailored to a patient’s particular needs. FRACTIONAL PHOTOTHERMOLYSIS Fractional photothermolysis involves the treatment of microscopic volumes of skin with individual pulses from a laser system, leaving the surrounding area intact to facilitate a rapid healing process. These microscopic treatment spots (MTS), typically only 200µm in diameter, penetrate to a controllable depth in the dermis whilst leaving untouched the many stem cells and melanocytes in the surrounding tissue. This therefore allows both a rapid re-epitheliazation of the epidermis as well as collagen remodeling deeper in the dermis. So the skin heals much faster than if the entire area were treated at once. ABLATIVE FRACTIONAL LASER The first systems utilising fractional photothermolysis were non-ablative. They relied on the coagulation of epidermal and dermal tissue whilst penetrating the stratum corneum as if it were a window, leaving it completely intact. Thus, whilst patient downtimes were very short (e.g. 0-4 days) it was often necessary for the patient to have many treatments to achieve the desired effect. The YOULASER CO2 System, however, is an “ablative” laser system. The 10.6µm wavelength of the system is strongly absorbed by skin tissue. As a result it removes all layers of the skin in its microscopic treatment spot, including the stratum corneum. Due to this removal of the skin’s protective top surface there is a small risk of infection following the treatment. However, thanks to the fractional modality, these risks are much lower than they are with the traditional, but yet highly effective, fully ablative lasers. Thus, in fractional ablative mode, the YOULASER CO2 System delivers the potency of ablative treatments with the safety of non-ablative fractional lasers, whilst in fully ablative mode it delivers the full efficacy of the more standard CO2 resurfacing lasers. HOW IS A TREATMENT CARRIED OUT? First of all, clean the skin thoroughly. Then, 60 to 90 minutes before the treatment is due to begin, apply a topical numbing agent to the treatment area. The practitioner may also choose to administer other medication to relax the patient. A full-face procedure takes approximately 30-40 minutes, and, in most cases, only one treatment is required for optimum results. YOULASER CO2 FEATURES • Fractional and Surgical Modes • Range of Spot Densities & Scan Patterns • Intuitive Colour Touchscreen User Interface • Ergonomic Scanner with Integrated Controls YOULASER CO2 APPLICATIONS • Ablative Fractional Skin Resurfacing • Skin Rejuvenation • Wrinkles
