Force transducer Drug administration Carbogen in An isolated tissue bath is a chamber in which isolated organs or tissues can be administered with drugs or stimulated electrically, in order to measure their function. The tissue in the organ bath is typically oxygenated with carbogen and kept in a solution such as Krebs-Henseleit, Tyrode or lactated Ringer solution. THEORICAL SETUP To keep the tissue sample alive and to perform a successful measurement, we need: • A pre-warmed and sufficiently saturated buffer before the measurement. This is provided by a double-walled reservoir (B) with an oxygenator placed in the system. • Buffer with optimum volume and temperature in the measuring vessel. The measuring bath (A) is also double-walled. The measuring bath is equipped with an overflow outlet to ensure that the calibrated amount of buffer always remains in the measuring chamber after washing out. • The system is kept warm (37°C) by a circulating water...

BUFFER RESERVOIR, TISSUE BATH, SENSOR HOLDER, GAS SUPPLIER WITH ADJUSTER Buffer reservoir, tissue bath, sensor holder and gas supplier with adjuster are the main components of one complete unit. These are assembled on the stand as one unit, then the tubing connections is done. This structure makes the replacement of any parts easy in case of damage. Moreover, malfunction of any part in the unit does not influence the operation of other units in the system, which is a further advantage. THE TISSUE BATH (TISSUE BATH) The measuring bath is the most complex component of the IS system. The...

In the latest redesign, the unit has been fitted with redesigned measuring bath fixings (3,4). The measuring chamber can now be lowered, making it much easier to place the sample on the sample holder. The measuring bath is filled with buffer from the reservoir through the B1 - B2 tube operated by filling tap (T1, 8). The tissue bath has two outlets. The upper outlet is an overflow (2) to keep the calibrated volume. The lower outlet (11) is for emptying the tissue chamber during operation or during cleaning. The unit keeps the flow of the water in a closed circuit providing stable temperature in the water jacket of the tissue chamber and the buffer reservoir as well. The inlet (4) supplies the chamber with Carbogen. Pressure adjustment of the gas can be done by the adjuster (10)....

ISO-08-6A 1ML OR 2ML EXTREME SMALL VOLUME BATH The extreme small volume bath offer a highly controlled microenvironment that allows researchers to closely monitor and manipulate the conditions surrounding the muscle. The small volume minimizes the need for excessive reagents, making it cost-effective and reducing potential interference with the experimental setup. The limited volume helps in maintaining a stable concentration of solutions, solutions, such as various ions or neurotransmitters, which directly impact muscle contraction. This stability is vital for accurate and consistent...

ISO-08-6E SPECIAL HOLDER FOR DIAPHRAGM - PHRENIC NERVE PREPARATION CONDUCTANTIA STUDIES The phrenic nerve-diaphragm preparation holds immense value in isolated muscle contraction experiments due to its unique physiological characteristics and relevance in studying neuromuscular function. This preparation involves the connection of the phrenic nerve, which innervates the diaphragm muscle responsible for breathing, to an isolated muscle setup. Its utility stems from several key aspects: Representative of Respiratory Function: The di- aphragm is the primary muscle involved in breathing....
