RPI-C: Significant Logistical Reagent Savings Reagents are paramount for the quality of hematology measurements. Optimum measurements require the human blood cell to feel comfortable outside the body and reside in a perfect environment where everything is exactly right. Up to now, these perfect conditions could only be created by a ready-to-use reagent. However, RR Mechatronics has developed an instrument that is able to dilute a reagent concentrate into a ready-to-use reagent on-site. Its quality is identical to that of the ready-to-use alternative - guaranteed! RR Mechatronics' Reagent Preparation Instrument-Concept (RPI-C) yields significant logistical savings for both hematology suppliers as well as hematology laboratories. Twentyfold Reduction RR Mechatronics presents a top notch, easy to use RPI-C reagent preparation instrument that can be used for every cell counter in hematology labs. It allows labs to use a reagent concentrate with a ratio anywhere between 1:10 and 1:20 or more. Just imagine what a twentyfold reduction in logistics would mean for your supply chain and stock volume, without compromising the quality of the reagent! How Does the RPI-C Work? The RPI-C takes in regular tap water. The integrated Millipore purification system purifies the water into grade 2 lab water and mixes it with the concentrated reagent. To guarantee perfect results, the instrument keeps the temperature at exactly 25°C. This is the temperature at which the reagent's conductivity must be measured. Once the reagent reaches the user-required conductivity, it flows to the storage container. To filter out any small particles that may have developed, the reagent is continuously cleaned by a 0.22pm filter. The reagent then leaves the filter and flows directly into the extraction container that is connected to the analyzers. These analyzers can draw up to 20 liters of the prepared and filtered reagent per hour. If the analyzers do not need reagent at that time, it flows back into the storage container where the filter process continues. This constant circula- tion and filtering prevents all particle matter from User Interface The reagent preparation process is displayed by an intuitive built-in user interface. The interface offers clear graphics and presents different kinds of infor- mation to the user, such as interactive user manuals and troubleshooting intelligence guides. Every lab employee can easily use and maintain the RPI-C. The interface can also display more detailed infor- mation on the reagent concentrate status, such as

These features can also be used from any PC, tablet or cell phone. The RPI-C allows labs and hematology suppliers to significantly improve the ecological footprint related to their reagent use in various ways. The RPI not only requires fewer logistical move- ments, but also less storage capacity, packaging, and energy. Due to clever use of its Peltier heat pump, the RPI is capable of using the lab's ambient temperature to...
