They enable Healthcare Professionals to custom-configure their suction system to suit a variety of hygienic requirements. Intended use/purpose • Bacteria filters keep bacteria from entering the pump and environment. • Overflow protection prevents an overflow. • Odour filter protects the environment from odours. The active charcoal neutralizes odour. • Virus filters prevent viruses from entering the pump and environment. Note: The product is to be used with the Medela aspiration pump source and additionally is tested to be used with wall vacuum systems according ISO 10079-3. WARNING • This is a single use product not intended to be reprocessed. Reprocessing could cause loss of mechanical, chemical and/ or biological characteristics. Reuse could cause cross contamination. • When combining Medela parts and a third party interfacing device, the user takes responsibility for the entire system and should test the combination to ensure that the performance and safety are properly maintained. The filter variety is compatible to Medela Dominant Flex, Basic and Vario 18 Pump portfolio and supports to optimise the protection from the risk of infection for surgical and airway procedures. For optimal hygiene standards and odour avoidance Bacteria filters provide the first, fundamental level of hygienic protection, a basic requirement if the Healthcare system does not include an embedded bacterial filter. • Overflow filters offer an essential safety mechanism to prevent fluids from entering the pump or central vacuum system. Two redundant overflow mechanisms should be present in any aspiration system. • Odour membranes effectively trap gases and odours, especially useful in containers used over multiple hours. • To ensure safety for patients and hospital staff, the pump filter exchange frequency should be performed according to the instructions for use and in-line with applicable local infection control policy. • Filtering capacity (Bacteria filter) 99.985 % for particles larger than 0.3 pm. • Filtering capacity (Virus filter) 99.99984 % for particles larger than 0.03 pm.
