Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides detailed information about the MELAtronic® EN series of autoclaves, which are designed for sterilizing medical and dental instruments. These autoclaves comply with the European Standard EN 13060 and are categorized into classes B, S, and N, with Class B having the highest requirements.
Specifications: The MELAtronic® EN series includes models 15 EN, 17 EN, and 23 EN, each with different dimensions and capacities. They operate on a fractionated gravity system and feature electronic control for precise temperature and pressure monitoring. The autoclaves have redundant temperature sensors and a precision pressure sensor to ensure effective sterilization.
Programs: The autoclaves offer four sterilization programs:
  • Quick Program “N” - For unwrapped instruments, operating at 134°C and 2.1 bar for 5 minutes.
  • Gentle Program “N” - For temperature-sensitive, unwrapped instruments at 121°C and 1.1 bar for 20 minutes.
  • Universal Program “S” - For wrapped instruments at 134°C and 2.1 bar for 5 minutes.
  • Prion Program “S” - For wrapped instruments with extended exposure at 134°C and 2.1 bar for 20 minutes.
Innovative Features: The autoclaves include an innovative water system with integrated water quality measurement to prevent contamination. They can be connected to an external wastewater container for optimal protection.
Documentation: The MELAview software allows for easy handling and archiving of sterilization cycle data. The MELAflash CF-Card-Printer system enables simple data storage and retrieval on a PC. The MELAprint®42 log printer provides documentation of sterilization cycles, including program details, date, time, and any deviations.
Technical Data: The document provides detailed technical specifications for each model, including dimensions, power supply, weight, and loading capacity. It also outlines the operational times for each program, with and without drying.
Drying Process: The autoclaves achieve good drying results through a preheating function that reduces condensate build-up and water consumption. Proper loading and the use of a foil holder for wrapped instruments enhance drying efficiency.
Conclusion: MELAtronic® EN autoclaves are designed for efficient and reliable sterilization of medical instruments, with advanced features for monitoring and documentation, ensuring compliance with hygiene standards.

MELAtronic®EN 15 EN · 17 EN · 23 EN The European Standard EN 13060 divides tabletop autoclaves into the classes B, S and N. Class B is the class with the highest requirements, such as are required on clinic autoclaves. Class S devices have less performance capability and for instance cannot be used for complicated hollow instruments or multiple wrapping. Class N are autoclaves that can be employed for the sterilization of solid instruments. MELAtronic ® EN autoclaves have two „N“ and two „S“ programs. Quality - made in Germany Which autoclave, according to the European Standard, is appropriate for your medical or dental practice? According to national hygiene requirements the physician or dentist is obliged to use risk assessment methods to dene which types of instruments and packaging are to be used in the medical or dental practice. In other words, it be must be decided whether B, S or N should be employed. Bacteriological expert opinions and thermoelectric measurements of the sterilizing effect of the MELAtronic ® EN autoclaves for wrapped instruments have demonstrated that both „S” programs can sterilize small quantities of wrapped solid instruments. MELAtronic ® EN autoclaves are for the sterilization of solid instruments according to EN 13060. Evidence Based Sterilization
