Sterile Millex® Syringe Filters Overview

Millex® sterile syringe filters are designed for venting, gas filtration, and sterile filtration of biological and chemical solutions. They are autoclavable and suitable for sterile gas filtering, venting sterile containers, and in-line vacuum pump protection.

Membrane Types and Specifications

  • PTFE Fluoropore™ Membrane: Hydrophobic chemistry for gas filtration; pore sizes 0.20 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 25 mm and 50 mm; polypropylene housing; various inlet/outlet connections including Luer and hose barb; CE marked.
  • PES Millipore Express® Plus Membrane: Fast flow, low binding for cell culture media; pore sizes 0.22 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 25 mm, 33 mm, 50 mm; PVC or acrylic housing; sterilized by ethylene oxide or radiosterilization.
  • PVDF Durapore® Membrane: Lowest protein binding; pore sizes from 0.1 µm to 5.0 µm; diameters 4 mm to 33 mm; various housings; suitable for protein-rich solutions.
  • PVDF Durapel™ Membrane: Superhydrophobic for air venting and gas filtration; 0.22 µm pore size; PVC housing.
  • MCE MF-Millipore™ Membrane: General purpose membrane; pore sizes 0.22 µm, 0.45 µm, and 0.8 µm; PVC or acrylic housing.
  • Hydrophilic PTFE Membrane: Broad chemical compatibility; 0.2 µm pore size; HDPE housing.

Membrane Types and Features

  • PTFE Hydrophilic Millipore® LCR Membrane: Lowest extractables, excellent solvent resistance; pore sizes 0.20 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 4 mm to 33 mm.
  • PTFE Hydrophilic IC Millex® Filters: Low ion chromatography extractables; pore sizes 0.20 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 13 mm and 25 mm.
  • PTFE Hydrophobic Fluoropore™ Membrane: Excellent solvent resistance; pore sizes 0.20 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 4 mm to 33 mm.
  • PVDF Durapore® Membrane: Low protein binding; pore sizes 0.22 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 4 mm to 33 mm.
  • Nylon Membrane: Broad chemical compatibility; pore sizes 0.20 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 13 mm and 33 mm.
  • PES Millipore Express® Membrane: Fastest flow, high throughput; pore sizes 0.22 µm and 0.45 µm; diameters 13 mm and 33 mm.
  • MCE Membrane: General laboratory filtration of aqueous solutions; pore sizes 0.22 µm, 0.45 µm, and 0.8 µm; 25 mm diameter.

Automation Compatible Filters

Filters designed for dissolution testing and HPLC sample preparation with various membranes (PVDF, hydrophilic PTFE, Nylon) and glass fiber prefilters. Available in 25 mm diameter with pore sizes 0.20 µm, 0.22 µm, 0.45 µm, and 1.0 µm.

High Particulate Filtration & Automation Compatible

Filters with graduated multi-layer glass fiber prefilters for chromatography sample prep, wine analysis, and general particulate removal. Membranes include hydrophilic PTFE, PVDF, and Nylon, all 25 mm diameter with 0.20 µm or 0.45 µm pore sizes.

Samplicity® G2 Filtration System

A vacuum filtration system enabling simultaneous filtration of 1 to 8 samples directly into standard HPLC, UPLC, or GC sample vials (12 × 32 mm). It facilitates faster and easier use of Millex® 33 mm syringe filters for multiple samples.

  • High-density polyethylene and polypropylene for chromatography, automation, and high-particulate filtration applications.
  • PVC housing used where noted.
