SURFACES SURFACE DISINFECTION After each treatment, surfaces that are near the patient and are contaminated by contact or aerosols, must be cleaned and disinfected. For aerosols, a dispersial radius of 2 meters must be taken into account. All surfaces farther away from the patient that have been visibly contaminated must also be disinfected immediately. Once a working day, all other functional surfaces in the clinically used practice area must be treated with a surface disinfectant. For reasons of occupational safety, wipe disinfection is generally preferable to spray disinfection.
