This leaflet will explain how a VivoSight examination can help your dermatologist to effectively assess and treat your Non Melanoma Skin Cancer. How is Non Melanoma Skin Cancer diagnosed? Your dermatologist will normally examine your skin using a dermatoscope (magnifying glass) and if necessary take a biopsy to make a diagnosis. A biopsy involves removing a piece of skin which is sent away to a Pathology Laboratory for analysis. Is it safe? VivoSight is completely harmless. The imaging technique was originally invented for use in the eye, where its use is now routine. Is it painful? VivoSight is completely non-invasive and painless. How will this affect my treatment? • It can help your dermatologist decide whether you can be treated non-invasively, for example with the application of a topical cream.
