Safety anaesthesia workstation SIGMA 70 & 120

Product catalog summary
Concept: Minerve's anesthesia workstations, SIGMA 70 and 120, are designed for safe and controlled anesthesia procedures on small animals in laboratory settings. They offer interchangeable trays for various configurations and are compatible with disinfection cycles.
Specifications: The SIGMA 120 features a TEC 7 vaporizer, integrated air pump, and a mix of two input gases. It includes automatic induction boxes, four anesthesia ways, and a 15" touch screen. The SIGMA 70 includes a TEC 3 vaporizer, three anesthesia ways, and a 7" touch screen. Both models have adjustable braked castors, active carbon filters, and thermo-regulated suction trays.
Principle of Operation: The workstations mix input gases to create a carrier gas, which is then loaded with an anesthetic agent in the vaporizer. The system distributes this mixture to various channels, each with independent control over activation, concentration, and utilization rates. An integrated carbon cartridge filters anesthetic agents, with an option to connect to external reprocessing systems.
Interface and Functionality: The touch interface allows real-time control of anesthesia parameters, which are personalized and stored for each user. Key functionalities include setting anesthetic agent concentration, real-time flow control, and automatic accessory detection.
Security Features: The system includes a high-capacity activated carbon filter, soundproofed extraction system, and real-time clogging indicators. The filling vaporizer wizard ensures safe filling by reducing system pressure to zero before opening.
System Alarms: Continuous monitoring of parameters such as gas pressures, extraction flows, and filter conditions ensures user safety. Anomalies trigger audible and visual alarms.
Accessories: Available accessories include surgical masks for various animals, mask supports, optical detectors, and multi-mask supports. The secure induction cage features laminar flow for pollutant capture and reduced anesthetic consumption.
Compatible References: The document lists compatible accessories and components, including surgery masks, stereotactic masks, multimask ramps, heating plates, and active carbon filters.

Our company was established under the name MINERVE Medical in 1953, and since then it has stuck to its original vocation of designing, manufacturing and distributing medical equipment. At the time it focused on both human and veterinary medicine. With a growing need for specialisation, MINERVE broadly focused on veterinary science. As a reorganised company, it joined the animal health department of the SANOFI group in 1980. In 1993 its veterinary medical equipment branch was sold to a group employee. The company EQUIPEMENT VETERINAIRE MINERVE was then established in its present form. The company...

The input gases are combined to produce a carrier gas, this gaseous mixture is sent to the vaporizer to be loaded with anesthetic agent. Then it’s distributed to each accessories channels that control activation, concentrations and utilization rates independantly. The central aspiration system captures and filters the anesthetic agents through an integrated activated carbon cartridge. It is also possible not to use internal activated carbon cartridges and return the stale air to a suitable reprocessing system (cartridges or HVAC system)

(1) Set the concentration of anaesthesic agent A system of quick shortcuts makes possible to define 3 favorite values for the following parameters: Flow rate, concentration and the set temperature for the surgical plans/ heating plates. A system of automatic detection of the connected accessory (cage or mask) allows to optimize the consumption of the anesthetic gas and informs the user of the status of each accessory (mask occupied, waiting, cage open, cage saturated ... ).

Elements and security routines : Détails of extraction system : A high-capacity activated carbon filter ensures the capture and neutralization of residual anesthesics agents. A pre-filter and / or HEPA FILTER is avaible as an alternative to the active carbon filter and can be used when the table is connected to the laboratory’s air handling system, in accordance with the specific health and environmental constraints associated with the location installation. The suction flow is enslaved to ensure a constant efficienty of the extraction system regardless of the filter level of clogging by particles...

Elements and security routines Filling vaporizer wizard : The "anesthesia filling" wizard has been developed to ensure that the user is not exposed during the filling phase of the vaporizer due to the presence of residual pressure when the latter is opened. In fact, even an ISOTEC7 type vaporizer can not contain the residual pressure during the filling phases. This wizard ensures that the system pressure has dropped to 0mb before asking the user to open the evaporator to fill.

Elements and security routines : System alarms : The operating system of the SIGMA 70 permanently monitors all the parameters related to anesthesia, with the aim of guaranteeing maximum user safety while optimizing the consumption of halogenated agents. Below is a list of the checks performed by the table in real time: - Inlet gas pressures 1 and 2 external - Inlet gas pressures 1 and 2 internal (concentrator and Hf air pump) - Extraction flows - Clogging condition of the hepa pre-filter - Saturation state of the activated carbon filter - Anesthesia output flow value corresponds to the set value...

Optical detector presence rat / mouse mask: The presence of the animal on the anesthetic mask is performed without contact by an infrared type optical detector. It is equipped with a green led to ensure a visual check of the flow status (Flashing: Off / On: sending in progress) Surgical mask for Rat/Mouse : INOX surgical mask with coaxial suction. The muzzle of the animal is surrounded by a silicone membrane to limit isoflurane leakage, and release the maximum space at the head, the surplus is redirected to the extraction system through the suction located on the outskirts. The mask is adjustable...

Multi-mask support for Rat or Mouse: Allows to maintain under anesthesia up to 6 mice or 4 rats simultaneously. Each outlet is equipped with an independent manual shut-off valve to shut off the supply of anesthetic mixture independently. The main advantage of this ramp is the use of a single gas outlet and avoid the multiplication of anesthesia circuits on the workspace; it must be fixed on a perforated tray by means of dedicated mask holders. The aspiration of the tray ensures the aspiration of all residual anesthetics. Masks of anesthesia big animals: Allows to maintain under anesthesia animals...
