The unit is designed to accept standard-depth components such as medical gas outlets, clocks, nurse call stations, electrical receptacles, light switches, etc. CONSTRUCTION Console backboxes are constructed of 16-gauge galvanized steel. Electrical components of different voltages are compartmentalized by means of metal barrier plates, which may be added or relocated to facilitate future electrical system modifications. Mounting panels for electrical devices and medical gas outlets are constructed of 16-gauge steel with a powder coated finish to match Formica #923 "Surf" laminate. Each panel includes a clear anodized extruded aluminum trim around the edges and contains a series of openings for attachment of electrical devices and device cover plates. Each panel mounts directly to the backbox, and device cover plates are attached directly to the face for ease of removal and servicing of devices.
