QUASAR Rotation Stage Respiratory Motion Phantom Brochure

Product catalog summary
Overview: The document describes the addition of a Rotation Stage to the QUASAR™ Respiratory Motion Phantom, enhancing its capabilities for quality assurance (QA) in radiotherapy by introducing non-linear motion.
Key Features:
  • The Rotation Stage allows for more complex motion, expanding the range of possible tests.
  • It supports a total range of motion of 60 degrees (±30 degrees from the horizontal).
  • Various inserts with off-center tumors and geometric objects are available to simulate complex motion scenarios.
Offset Inserts:
  • Three cedar inserts with off-center 30 mm spherical tumors are available for testing complex lateral motion.
  • These inserts are compatible with the existing Cedar Series respiratory motion inserts.
  • The 4D CT imaging insert is also supported due to the off-center positioning of geometric objects.
Quality Assurance System:
  • QUASAR™ supports testing of dosimetric and non-dosimetric functions of planning systems, CT simulators, and delivery systems.
  • It is integral to QA programs, useful for commissioning new systems, upgrades, and testing repairs.
Ordering Information:
  • Product code for the Respiratory Motion Rotation Stage: 500-3330.
  • Optional items include various Offset Cedar Inserts with solid or split tumors.
Installation Instructions:
  1. Remove the existing thumbscrew and slide the translation stage out of the motion assembly.
  2. Insert the modified translation stage and align the T-nut.
  3. Insert the extended thumbscrew through the keyhole and into the T-nut.
  4. Adjust the T-nut location to a maximum 20 mm amplitude and finger tighten the thumbscrew.
  5. Verify alignment to prevent binding and motor skipping, starting with a slow speed.
  6. Solid acrylic inserts are limited to 25 bpm; cedar inserts have no speed limit.

RESPIRATORY MOTION ROTATION STAGE Add Non-Linear Motion to the Respiratory Motion Phantom The Rotation Stage adds rotational motion to the QUASAR™ Respiratory Motion Phantom for an increased range of QA options. Key Features • Rotation provides more complex motion and expands the range of possible tests • A number of inserts are available with off-center tumors and geometric objects The new accessory allows inserts to rotate as they translate with a 60o total range of motion (± 30o from the horizontal). Offset Inserts Three cedar inserts, each with an off-center 30 mm spherical tumor, allow testing with more complex lateral motion during translation. These inserts feature the same characteristics as the existing Cedar Series respiratory motion inserts (500-3311, 500-3312, 500-3313) but with a modified tumor location. Testing with the 4D CT imaging insert (500-3317) is also supported because of the off-center positioning of the various geometric objects within the insert. Above: Rotation Stage and extended thumbs

RESPIRATORY MOTION ROTATION STAGE Add Non-Linear Motion to the Respiratory Motion Phantom Installation Instructions Procedure: 1. Remove existing thumbscrew completely and slide translation stage out of motion assembly. 2. Slide modified translation stage into motion assembly, note location of thumbscrew T-nut. 3. Slide extended thumbscrew through opening in keyhole, and then carefully insert into T-nut through opening in translation stage. 4. Adjust location of T-nut to maximum 20 mm amplitude. 5. Finger tighten the thumbscrew. 6. Review alignment of motion assembly relative to oval / insert....
