Product catalog summary
Application
The MPW M-BASIC is a laboratory centrifuge designed for In Vitro diagnostics to separate samples into components of different densities. It is suitable for medical and biochemical analyses but should not be used with corrosive, flammable, or explosive substances.
Technical Specifications
Manufactured by MPW MED. INSTRUMENTS, the centrifuge operates on various voltages and has a maximum power of 120W. It can accommodate up to 8x15ml or 2x50ml samples, with speeds ranging from 300 to 4000 RPM and RCF from 10 to 2469 x g. It supports both short-time and continuous operation modes.
Installation
The centrifuge should be installed on a stable, flat surface with a 30 cm ventilation zone. The power supply must match the voltage on the rating plate, and an emergency switch is recommended.
Safety and Operation
Only qualified personnel should operate the centrifuge. Regular maintenance is essential, and toxic or flammable materials should not be centrifuged. The control panel allows for program selection and parameter adjustments during operation.
Maintenance and Chemical Resistance
Regular cleaning, sterilization, and checking for chemical resistance are required. The device should be stored and transported under specified conditions to prevent damage.
Troubleshooting
The manual provides guidance on handling errors, including emergency cover opening and addressing unbalance issues. Error messages are detailed for user reference.
Guarantee and Repairs
The device comes with a 24-month warranty. Repairs should be conducted by authorized services, and a decontamination declaration is required before sending the device for repair.
Transport, Storage, and Disposal
Guidelines for safe transport, storage, and disposal are included to maintain device integrity and comply with safety standards.
Specifications and Safety Precautions
The centrifuge should not be used in explosive environments or with materials that can form flammable mixtures. Only original equipment and spare parts should be used.
Maintenance and Inspection
Regular maintenance includes checking for structural changes, corrosion, and wear. A yearly technical inspection by an authorized service is required.
Operation Procedures
Ensure test tubes are filled to the same weight to prevent imbalance. The rotor must be equipped with buckets in all seats, and containers should be lubricated regularly.
Control and Safety Features
The centrifuge has a microprocessor control system with safety features like a cover lock and unbalance detection system.
Program and Parameter Settings
The centrifuge can save up to five programs, with adjustable parameters for RPM, time, and RCF.
Handling and Residual Risk
Proper handling of rotors and containers is essential to avoid damage. Residual risks can be minimized by adhering to the user manual.
Emergency Procedures
In emergencies, the cover can be opened manually when the rotor is at rest using the emergency lid release key.
Error Handling
Error messages are displayed with "Err." and a numerical value. Most errors can be resolved by restarting the centrifuge.
Warranty and Repairs
The device comes with a 24-month warranty, and repairs should be conducted by authorized services.
Transport and Storage
Proper lifting techniques and transport devices should be used due to the device's weight. It should be stored in a dry, closed room.
Disposal
The device must be disposed of according to statutory rules, as it is categorized under medical devices.
Manufacturer Information
MPW MED. INSTRUMENTS provides contact details for sales and service inquiries.
Optional Accessories
A list of optional accessories and compatible tubes is provided.
