Product catalog summary
Introduction
Biogas is a renewable energy source derived from the anaerobic digestion of organic materials such as biomass, animal waste, and agro-industrial waste. It contributes positively to reducing greenhouse gas emissions by maintaining the CO2 balance.

Biogas Treatment Importance
Proper purification and desiccation of Biogas are crucial for optimizing its energetic and economic properties, especially when used in co-generators (CHPs). MTA provides specialized solutions for Biogas plants, including EnerDryer, heat exchangers, water chillers, and FC4TAE Dry Coolers.

EnerDryer: The Biogas Dryer
EnerDryer is a compact, outdoor-installable solution designed for Biogas desiccation. It features a robust galvanized steel frame, an industrial water chiller with an integrated pump and tank, and a thermally insulated drying module. The drying process involves a gas/water exchanger, an energy-saving economizer, and a condensate discharge system. All components in contact with Biogas are made of stainless steel for durability.

CoolPro Aftercoolers (WE/WF)
These aftercoolers are designed for Biogas applications, offering fixed and removable tube bundles, economizers, and demister separators. They are made with stainless steel to ensure low-pressure operation and corrosion resistance. Certifications include PED 97/23, ASME VIII, and others.

FC4TAE Modular Dry Coolers
These coolers use ambient air for cooling and can be paired with liquid chillers for Biogas freecooling and co-generator heat dissipation. They feature a microprocessor control for stable liquid temperature management.

Liquid Chillers
MTA offers liquid chillers for Biogas drying, designed for heavy-duty operation with cooling capacities up to 1800 kW. Freecooling versions provide energy savings by utilizing low ambient temperatures.

Biogas Treatment Process
Biogas must be dried and filtered before use to prevent system corrosion and optimize energy yield. The treatment involves removing water vapor and pollutants like H2S and siloxanes.

Application of MTA Solutions
MTA solutions like EnerDryer, liquid chillers, and heat exchangers are used to remove water vapor by cooling Biogas to 5-10°C. FC4TAE Dry Coolers assist in co-generator cooling and freecooling.

EnerDryer Operation
The gas is pre-cooled in an economizer, passes through demister separators, and is cooled to a dew point of 10°C using a water-glycol mixture. The process ensures efficient condensate removal.

Features and Benefits
EnerDryer offers a compact design, external installation, and plug-and-play operation. It improves CHP performance, reduces gas utilization, prevents condensate formation, and eliminates corrosion issues. It also enhances the performance and longevity of activated carbon towers.

Biogas is a renewable and environmentally friendly energy source.Biogas is obtained thanks to the anaerobic digestive reaction of renewable raw materials including biomasses, animal waste and agro-industrial waste disposals. This biological process does not deteriorate the overall CO2 balance and represents a positive contribution to the reduction of greenhouse effects. The correct purification and desiccation of Biogas are of fundamental importance in optimizing the energetic and economic properties within co-generators (CHPs). MTA meets the specific technical needs of Biogas plants thanks to...

Biogas treatment The gas produced by anaerobic digestion processes must, before either being fed into the co-generators or entering the distribution lines, be appropriately dried and filtered in order to both protect the system from corrosion and optimize the overall energy yield. Biogas from renewable agriculture sources - Biomass originating from various sources (animal waste, energy crops) is fermented, in the absence of oxygen and at a defined temperature, within specific digesters. The result is a mixture made BIOGAS up of 50-70% methane and 30-50% carbon dioxide, the so called ‘Biogas’....

Operation The gas first enters the economizer, where it is pre-cooled by the cold outlet gas (this also protects the dew point by post-heating the outlet gas). On exiting the economizer the gas passes through the first demister separator, where condensate formed at this stage is removed. The gas then enters a second heat exchanger, where it is cooled to a dew point of maximum 10 °C by a water-glycol mixture passing in counter-flow. A second demister separator removes all residual condensate created. The water-glycol mixture is cooled by an industrial grade liquid chiller featuring a completely...
