Intended Use
The Xcela Hybrid PICC is intended for short or long-term peripheral access to the central venous system for intravenous therapy, blood sampling, and power injection of contrast media. The non-valved lumen is specifically for CVP monitoring.

Contraindications

Venous thrombosis in the catheterized vein.
Conditions impeding venous return, such as paralysis or lymphedema.
Orthopedic or neurological conditions affecting the extremity.
Presence of dialysis grafts or other intraluminal devices.
Hypercoagulopathy without anticoagulation therapy.
Infections at or near the insertion site.
Anatomical distortions or irregularities.

Warnings

Adhere to universal blood and bodily fluid precautions.
Use sterile technique during handling.
Do not reuse or reprocess the device.
Do not place the catheter into the heart's right atrium or ventricle.
Ensure patency before power injection to avoid catheter failure.
Maximum pressure for power injectors should not exceed 325 psi.

Precautions

Avoid using acetone and polyethylene glycol-containing ointments.
Secure the catheter externally to prevent movement or damage.
Use only Luer Lock accessories.
Flush catheter lumen after each infusion.
Inspect catheter and access site for dryness before dressing.
