Somatostatin Data Sheet Host: Rabbit Species Reactivity Human, Mouse, and Rat Format: Lyophilized from 10 mM PBS. Avoid freeze thaw-cycles. Description/Data: Somatostatin is secreted by neuroendocrine neurons in hypothalamus and interacts with somatostatin receptors inhibiting secretion of growth hormone. Images: Immunohistochemical staining of Somatostatin in rat brainstem medulla. 4% paraformaldehyde fixed rat brain 10 gm thick cryostat sections were incubated with rabbit polyclonal antibody to Somatostatin at 10 gg/mL overnight at 4°C followed by incubation with Donkey anti-rabbit Rhodamine Red (pseudocoloured yellow) conjugated secondary antibodies at 1:200. Cell nuclei were counterstained with DAPI.
