GRAFTYS® QUICKSET CALCIUM PHOSPHATE BONE VOID FILLER
GRAFTYS® QUICKSET is a calcium phosphate bone void filler designed for filling bony voids or defects that do not affect the stability of the bone structure. It is suitable for use in the extremities and pelvis, providing a resorbable filler that is replaced by bone during healing.
Design and Components
The product is delivered in an all-in-one closed device consisting of a double-compartment syringe, a cannula, and a delivery gun. It features a safe, swift, and simple preparation process that takes only 2 minutes.
Main Composition
The powder component is a mix of calcium-phosphates and a rheo-fluidifying polymer (HPMC), while the liquid component is a sodium phosphate-based aqueous solution. The final product consists of nano-sized Calcium Deficient Apatite crystals with up to 70% global porosity.
Injectability and Benefits
Thanks to the HPMC polymer, the product offers improved injectability, good cohesion, optimal filling, and no shrinkage during the hardening process. It achieves a compressive strength within the range of cancellous bone (24MPa after 24 hours).
Procedure and Usage
The preparation involves transferring the liquid to the powder chamber, mixing for 2 minutes, and then injecting using the provided cannula. Drill and screw insertion can occur during the 2-minute injection time or after a 6-20 minute setting time.
Technical Information
The product has a shelf-life of 2 years, is sterilized by gamma radiation, and should be stored at room temperature (15°C to 25°C). It is FDA cleared under 510(k) K231714.
