ODU AMC® NP LOCKING MECHANISM BREAK-AWAY LOCKING Connected position The break-away function allows connectors to be mated and unmated quickly and reliably. During the mating process, a canted spring inside the receptacle engages corresponding grooves on the plug. Once established, the connection will be maintained as long spring tension is less than the release limit of the connector system. The canted spring is strong enough to resist minor tension.
