Femoral Heads

Product catalog summary
Introduction
Femoral heads are critical components in modular endoprosthetic hip systems, serving as the articulation partner between the hip stem and the cup component. They are designed to work with polyethylene components as gliding partners for metal femoral heads and can be used with both cementless and cemented polyethylene cups. Ceramic femoral heads can articulate with ceramic inserts.
Specifications
Femoral heads are detachable and connect to the stem using a friction-lock system with a 12/14 cone. They are available in various sizes and neck lengths to accommodate individual anatomical conditions.
Materials and Variants
  • Implant Steel (ISO 5832-9): Available in sizes S to XXL with diameters of 28/32 mm. Known for high corrosion resistance and used as a sliding partner for polyethylene.
  • CoCrMo (ISO 5832-12): Available in sizes S to L and S to XXL with diameters of 22/28/32 mm. Characterized by high hardness, excellent wear properties, and robustness.
  • ELEC®plus (ISO 6474-2): Available in sizes S to L and S to XL with diameters of 28/32/36 mm. A high-performance ceramic material with high mechanical strength and flexural strength.
  • Biolox® delta (ISO 6474-2): Available in sizes S to L and S to XL with diameters of 28/32/36 mm. Made of mixed oxide ceramic with increased breaking resistance and excellent abrasion properties.
Conclusion
OHST Medizintechnik AG offers a range of femoral heads made from high-quality materials, ensuring compatibility with various hip systems and providing options tailored to patient-specific anatomical needs.

Femoral Heads BEST QUALITY MADE IN GERMANY FEMORAL HEADS Various materials are available When used with modular endoprosthetic hip systems, femoral heads act as the articulation partner between the hip stem and the cup component. Polyethylene components are used as a gliding partner for metal femoral heads. They can also be used with PE inlays for cementless outer cups or with cemented polyethylene cups. All femoral heads are detachable and can be connected with the stem by means of a friction-lock system using a 12/14 cone. Several sizes with varying diameters and neck lengths are available. This enables individual adjustments of the implant system to the patient’s anatomical conditions. Furthermore, they can be used for bipolar heads with polyethylene inserts. Ceramic femoral heads can, in addition, articulate with ceramic inserts. Grünauer Fenn 3 | D-14712 Rathenow | Fon: +49 (0) 3385 5420 0 | E-Mail: [email protected] | www.o
