Olympic Cuff-Safe-1

OLYMPIC VETERINARY PRSRT STD US Postage PAID Seattle, WA Permit No. 711 9311 SE 36th ST, Unit 220 Mercer Island, WA 98040 USA New Model Now available for veterinary use Over inflation of ET tubes is a recognized patient threat, although it is often undetected. One study showed that more than 50% of intubations exceeded maximum safe cuff pressures. This can result from the significant difference between the “feel” of the pilot balloon and actual cuff pressure. The Olympic Cuff-Safe eliminates the danger of over inflation and tracheal injury by providing a direct, accurate reading of cuff pressure. The Cuff-Safe also enables you to more precisely control inflation because of its sensitive inflation bulb. You can limit initial inflation to not exceed safe pressures, and you can fine tune the final pressure setting to make sure the cuff forms a non-injurious seal with the tracheal wall. • Monitors cuff pressure of ET tubes • Helps prevent tracheal injury • Eliminates the risk of “blind” cuff inflation • Provides consistent, safe standard of care Accurate measurements in cms of water Detects accidental deflation With slow leaks, pressure can be maintained. Easy-to-Read Large dial Green zone For reference. Helps set safe pressures. Pressure release valve Dual function: Slow or rapid release Inflation bulb Soft feel for controlled inflation. Eliminates syringes. Works with all clear ET tubes High volume/low pressure type. Universal connector For all standard ET tubes Hook for hanging During monitoring and storage. Extra long connecting tube is provided. Order by phone: 1-800-789-6867 Order online: www.OlympicVeterinary.com Once the cuff pressure has been correctly set, the Cuff-Safe monitors pressure throughout the entire procedure. (It hangs out of the way on the anesthesia cart). With continuous monitoring, accidental cuff deflation can be detected instantly, and if there is a slow leak, the cuff pressure can be maintained by reinflating with the Cuff-Safe to avoid reintubation. If reintubation is required, it can be done more quickly by inflating the new cuff to the patient’s previously measured pressure. Also with continuous monitoring, cuff pressure can be easily readjusted to changes in patient response, e.g., blood pressure. There are other important advantages to measuring cuff pressure: 1) By charting pressure, you will have a record for medical-legal purposes. 2) You can establish safe pressure ranges for various species, breeds, and ages, which will save time on all intubations, especially when reintubating the same patient. 3) And having a cuff pressure protocol based on direct measurements will help train your staff and assure a consistent standard of care in your clinic. Available only from Olympic Money Back Guarantee If you are not completely satisfied with your Cuff-Safe, you may return it (even if damaged) within 90 days, for a full refund of your purchase price.
