Product catalog summary
Overview: The document provides information on the electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) of the OMRON battery-operated Electronic Nerve Stimulator (ENS), model E4 (HV-F128-E), in compliance with the IEC60601-1-2:2007 standard. It outlines the device's immunity to electromagnetic interference and its emissions levels.
Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) Standards: The OMRON ENS devices conform to the EN60601-1-2:2007 standard, which regulates EMC requirements to prevent unsafe product situations. This standard specifies immunity levels to electromagnetic interference and maximum emission levels for medical devices.
Precautions: Users should use only specified accessories and cables to avoid increased emissions or decreased immunity. The device should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment unless verified for normal operation in such configurations.
Electromagnetic Emissions: The device uses RF energy only for internal functions, resulting in very low RF emissions unlikely to interfere with nearby electronic equipment. It is suitable for use in all establishments, including domestic environments.
Electromagnetic Immunity: The device is tested for electrostatic discharge (ESD) and power frequency magnetic fields. It is compliant with specified test levels, ensuring it operates correctly in typical commercial or hospital environments.
Separation Distances: Recommended separation distances between the device and RF communications equipment are provided to prevent electromagnetic interference. These distances vary based on the frequency and power output of the transmitter.
Additional Notes: EMC tests were conducted with an attached electrode cord of 1 m length. Users should consider environmental factors such as absorption and reflection from structures, objects, and people, which may affect electromagnetic propagation.

EMC Information - Battery-operated Electronic Nerve Stimulator-1

OMRON battery-operated Electronic Nerve Stimulator (ENS), model E4 (HV-F128-E) Information for accompanying documents in the scope of IEC60601-1-2:2007 Important information regarding Electro Magnetic Compatibility (EMC) With the increased number of electronic devices such as PC’s and mobile (cellular) telephones, medical devices in use may be susceptible to electromagnetic interference from other devices. Electromagnetic interference may result in incorrect operation of the medical device and create a potentially unsafe situation. Medical devices should also not interfere with other devices. In order to regulate the requirements for EMC (Electro Magnetic Compatibility) with the aim to prevent unsafe product situations, the EN60601-1-2 standard has been implemented. This standard defines the levels of immunity to electromagnetic interferences as well as maximum levels of electromagnetic emissions for medical devices. Medical devices manufactured by OMRON Healthcare conform to this EN60601-1-2:2007 standard for both immunity and emissions. Nevertheless, special precautions need to be observed: • The use of accessories and cables other than those specified by OMRON, with the exception of cables sold by OMRON as replacement parts for internal components, may result in increased emission or decreased immunity of the device. • The medical devices should not be used adjacent to or stacked with other equipment. In case adjacent or stacked use is necessary, the medical device should be observed to verify normal operation in the configuration in which it will be used. • Refer to further guidance below regarding the EMC environment in which the device should be used.
