Specifications: The device conforms to the EMC standard IEC60601-1-2:2014. It is crucial to use only the specified accessories and cables to avoid increased electromagnetic emission or decreased immunity, which could lead to improper operation.

Procedures and Recommendations:

  • Avoid using the monitor adjacent to or stacked with other devices, except the smartphone intended for use with the monitor, to prevent improper operation.
  • Maintain a distance of at least 12 inches (30 cm) between the monitor and any portable RF communications devices, excluding the smartphone used with the monitor, to prevent performance degradation.

EMC Environment Guidance: The document provides further guidance on the EMC environment suitable for the monitor's operation.

Emission Limits and Compliance:

  • The device complies with CISPR 11 Group 1, Class B for conducted and radiated RF emissions.
  • Emission tests for harmonic distortion, voltage fluctuations, and flicker are not applicable.

Immunity Test Levels:

  • Electrostatic discharge: IEC 61000-4-2 with levels up to ±15 kV air.
  • Radiated RF electromagnetic fields: IEC 61000-4-3 with a level of 10 V/m from 80 MHz to 2.7 GHz.
  • Rated power frequency magnetic fields: IEC 61000-4-8 with a level of 30 A/m at 50 Hz or 60 Hz.
  • Tests for electrical fast transients, surges, conducted disturbances, voltage dips, and interruptions are not applicable.

BP7900-1

Important information regarding Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) This blood pressure monitor + EKG manufactured by OMRON HEALTHCARE Co., Ltd. conforms to IEC60601-1-2:2014 Electromagnetic Compatibility (EMC) standard. Nevertheless, special precautions need to be observed: • The use of accessories and cables other than those specified or provided by OMRON could result in increased electromagnetic emission or decreased electromagnetic immunity of the monitor and result in improper operation. • During a blood pressure measurement and/or an EKG recording, the use of the monitor adjacent to or stacked with another device, other than the smartphone to be used with the monitor, should be avoided because it could result in improper operation. In case such use is necessary, the monitor and the other device should be observed to verify that they are operating normally. • During a blood pressure measurement and/or an EKG recording, portable RF communications device (including peripherals such as antenna cables and external antennas) other than the smartphone to be used with the monitor should be used no closer than 12 inches (30 cm) to any part of the monitor, including cables specified by OMRON. Otherwise, degradation of the performance of the monitor could result. • Refer to further guidance below regarding the EMC environment in which the monitor should be used.
