PreciSAL™ 3-Piece IOL Clear
The PreciSAL™ 3-Piece IOL Clear is an aspheric three-piece posterior chamber lens designed for cataract surgery. It is made from UV absorbing hydrophobic acrylic polymer with a UV cut-off at 386 nm ± 2 nm. The material has a water content of less than 0.5% and a refractive index of 1.5. The optic design is biconvex with square-edged optic and haptic, and the haptic design is a C-Loop made from PMMA. The optic diameter is 6.0 mm, and the overall diameter is 13.0 mm with a haptic angle of 8°.
The lens offers a diopter range from 0.0 D to 10.0 D in 1.0 D increments and from 10.0 D to 30.0 D in 0.5 D increments.
The manufacturer's A-constant is 118.3 for contact and immersion biometry. Recommended A-constants are 118.9 (SRK II), 118.7 (SRK-T), 1.61 (Holladay I sf), 1.26 (HAIGIS a0), 0.40 (HAIGIS a1), and 0.10 (HAIGIS a2). The ACD values are 5.337 (Holladay II), 5.51 (Hoffer Q), and 5.39 (Manufacturer). These values are guidelines for optical biometry and should be customized by surgeons based on individual techniques and desired outcomes.
The lens is sterilized using Ethylene Oxide (ETO). The recommended insertion instrument is the Medicel Accuject 3.0 - 3P injector system (Model LP604580).
