Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Toegrip® implant is designed for interphalangeal fusion, specifically targeting proximal interphalangeal (PIP) arthrodesis. Traditional methods using Kirschner wires often lack rotational stability and can be inconvenient for patients. Toegrip® aims to address these issues by providing enhanced stability and comfort.

Advantages
  • Easy positioning with dedicated instruments.
  • Primary stability through 3-point fixation.
  • Intra-medullar press-fit with flexible prongs.
  • Polyketone material allows clear X-ray examination.
  • Available in multiple sizes and angles for anatomical fit.
  • No need for implant removal post-consolidation.
  • Bio-compatible and radio-transparent material.

Indications
  • Arthrodesis of PIP and DIP joints.
  • Rigid PIP joint deformities, hammertoes, and claw toes.
  • Revision surgeries and shortening osteotomies.

Contraindications
  • Infections and skin ulcerations.

Surgical Technique
  1. Preparation: Use the starter drill to center the phalanx canal, followed by sequential drilling to determine implant size.
  2. Joint Surface Preparation: Resect articular surfaces and use the calcar reamer for the middle phalanx.
  3. Implantation: Insert the longer part of the implant into the proximal phalanx, then position the middle phalanx over the shorter part using the implant reducer.

Instruments
  • Starter Drill, Xsmall to Xlarge Drills, 4x1 Reamer, Implant Reducer, Calcar Reamer, and various Holders.

TOEGRIP® Kirschner wires are often used for the surgical treatment of proximal interphalangeal arthrodesis. This technique is associated with a possible lack of the important rotational stability that is required for proper bone fusion, as well as with the inconvenience during the 4 to 6 weeks healing period. Patients often feel embarrassed by the external remainder of the pin(s) and the need for pin removal. The Toegrip® implant was designed with a group of foot surgeons. The innovative design of the Toegrip® induces a cortical intra-medullar stability, reducing the non-union risk due to the...

TOEGRIP® SURGICAL TECHNIQUE Proximal Inter Phalangeal Arthodesis in Joint surface preparation The inter phalangeal joint is approached through a dorsal, longitudinal or transversal incision. The proximal and middle phalanx articular surfaces are resected. For the middle phalanx, the use of the calcar reamer (Art.Code: TG0010) is recommended to preserve as much as possible the subchondral bone. Proximal and middle phalanx intra medullar preparation The drill named “starter” (Art.Code: TG0113), 2,0mm diameter, is used to center the proximal and middle phalanx canal. The proximal phalanx is prepared...
