Surgical Technique Two small incisions are performed perpendicular to each other. The first is positioned anteriorly along the inferior border of the lateral-third of the clavicle, whilst the second is centred, cranial to caudal, directly over the coracoid process. The upper (superior) incision is made and carried sharply down to the underlying deltotrapezoidal fascia, which is opened in line with the clavicle. The lower (inferior) incision is performed meticulously in order to expose the coracoid. The origin and insertion of the muscles (short head of biceps, coracobrachialis and...

Surgical Technique The band is then passed posteriorly underneath the base of the coracoid… … and retrieved out through the inferior incision. Once the band is retrieved, a second subcutaneous tunnel is created, caudal to cranial, through the inferior incision to the superior incision. The flexible titanium guide strip with cerclage band is then guided through to the superior incision via the tunnel. Instruments

Surgical Technique The flexible titanium guide strip is passed from the space of implant located under the set screw. It is taken out from the superior incision and resected with a sharp scissors or scalpel. Attention: When removing the titanium guide strip, be sure to leave enough hard part at the end of the Band. The cerclage band is initially tightened manually whilst positioning of the titanium locking block is also checked. The final tensioning of the band is performed using the OrtholoxGh ACJ Cerclage Band Tensioner. OrtholoxGh ACJ Cerclage Band Tensioner NOTE: For more information...

Surgical Technique After removal of the flexible titanium guide strip, hold the OrtholoxGh ACJ Cerclage Band Tensioner should be held with the star wheel positioned on the right-hand side of the operating surgeon. Pass the end of the band through the narrow slot at the tip of the shaft (below the bar) towards the handle. When the tip of the tensioner is advanced against the titanium lock and is seated in the slot on either side of the titanium lock, the band should be manually pulled towards the winding mechanism Insert the end of the band into one of the slot on the rotating barrel and...

Surgical Technique With the band at optimum tension and the Cerclage Band Tensioner attached to the titanium lock, tighten the set screw on the titanium lock with the Straight Torque Handle and Screwdriver. Turn the screwdriver attached to the Straight Torque Handle clockwise until a "click" is heard, indicating that the set screw has reached its optimum tension After the locking screw is secured, release the tension on the remaining part of the band by pressing down on the release trigger on the Cerclage Band Tensioner. Following satisfactory reduction of the AC joint is confirmed with...
