Pedi-Scoliometer - 1

PEDI-SCOLIOMETER The scoliometer, a type of Inclinometer, is used across the back on bending forward to measure the angle of trunk inclination at three levels, thoracic, thoracolumbar and lumbar. The largest of these readings is recorded as the angle of trunk rotation (ATR). The correlation between the angle of trunk rotation measured with the SCOLIOMETER and the degree of scoliosis (Cobb angle on a radiograph) is: Cobb’s angle = 4,35 x degree of Scoliometer –12,6. The ideal screening criterion minimizes both the number of referrals and the number of treatment-eligible patients missed by the screen. Studies by William P. Bunnell suggest that 7 degree ATR at any level of the spine measured by scoliometer is the ideal criterion for referral. Svaanintie 4 90230 OULU puh. 020 740 1330 info@pedihealth.fi www.pedihealth.f
