Pharma-Algi® F Product Line: is haemostatic and absorbent wound dressing, made of calcium alginate fibres, carded and needle punched to form a nonwoven absorbent felt. Features: 1-Haemostatic effect: due to calcium - sodium ions exchange where calcium ions are donated to the wound which is vital factor for the clotting process. 2-High Absorption capacity: absorb wound exudates and locks it inside the formed gel so prevents skin maceration. 3-Moist wound environment: Upon contact with wound exudates, it rapidly gels which overlays the wound and provides a moist micro-environment that promotes healing and formation of granulation tissue. 4-Conformable and Soft: conforms to wound contours. 5-Atraumatic Dressing removal: gel formation prevents adherence of the dressing to the newly formed tissues. 6-Unique Integrity: allowing removal of the dressing as one piece. 7-Adsorb offensive odour: due to activated carbon felt if present. Versions: 1-Non adherent Dressing: •Pharma-Algi® F: is made of 100% Calcium Alginate fibers. •Pharma-Algi® F Carbon: is made of carbon felt sandwiched between 2 nonwoven layers made of 100% Calcium Alginate fibers to adsorb bad odour. Pharma-Algi® F Product Line is available as flat sheet for superficial wounds or as ribbon for cavity wounds and both need secondary dressing for fixation. 2-Post-Operative Dressings: Island dressing are made of the above composites Pharma-Algi® F, Pharma-Algi® F Carbon, placed centrally on adhesive substrate e.g. polyurethane film, spunlaced nonwoven polyester fibres or PU film laminated to spun laced nonwoven, that extends beyond the margin of the island pad, so that the dressing could be applied without fixation tapes or secondary fixation dressing. a-Pharma-Algi ® F Adhesive with or without carbon: Spunlaced nonwoven polyester substrate coated with pressure sensitive adhesive b-Pharma-Algi ® F Adhesive Film with or without carbon: Polyurethane film substrate coated with pressure sensitive adhesive.
