The FIPS process was designed to be fast and efficient. It takes less than 2 hours to make an insert – seat and back! That includes a trial run-through, mixing, pouring, positioning, curing, and trimming. The insert can be fabric-finished and waterproofed in about 2 to 4 hours. The ease and versatility of the FIPS system makes it ideal for trial seating and emergency applications. FIPS has the technological advantage. SunMate® is a viscoelastic cushion material with “memory”. It flows to match the body’s contours, and slowly returns to its original shape once pressure is removed. SunMate is an open-cell foam which maximizes the flow of air through the cushion to reduce heat buildup. The cell structure alleviates sitting fatigue through uniform pressure distribution and impact energy absorption. When fabric-finished, a SunMate FIPS insert can withstand years of use.
