B-Lite Lightweight Breast Implants Catalog

Catalog excerpts

B-Lite combines well known and clinically proven materials in an innovative way to provide natural fullness, feel and strength with minimal weight. The physical properties of the B-Lite® have been optimized to closely resemble body tissue, thus providing the breast with a natural look and feel whilst reducing the burden of gravity. B-Lite® breast implants are available with a smooth or textured surface, round or anatomical shape, in low, moderate, high and extra high profiles. Design as well as production, delivery and customer service of the B-Lite® Breast implants are subject to our...

B-Lite® implants have a chemically and mechanically resistant, soft silicone elastomer shell which consists of several polydimethylsiloxane layers including a barrier layer for reducing diffusion of low molecular weight silicones from the implants. The outer shell of the implant is available with either smooth or textured outer surface. Filler material The filler material throughout the implant is a composite of medical grade cohesive silicone gel and hollow borosilicate microspheres, which are chemically bound to the silicone gel. The presence of borosilicate microspheres allows...

B-Lite® implants are available in round or anatomical shapes and in a variety of projections. The large variety of sizes combined with the systematic approach to surgical planning ensure that the correct implant is available for every patient. Base measurements A and C provide the width and Height of the implant base respectively. All implants in the catalogue have a round base and therefore A and C measurements are equivalent. Projection measurement B provides the maximum projection of the implant. Measurement D provides the distance between the highest point of projection and caudal...

The Lightweight Advantage A simple, yet effective, approximation of elastic systems, such as breast tissue, can be provided using a spring-mass model. Hooke's Law, demonstrates that the degree of tissue stretching will be proportional to its mass and inversely proportional to its elasticity. Thus, gravitational forces, pulling the breast are directly proportional to tissue and implant weight. The table below presents several examples comparing B-Lite® with other marketed silicone gel-filled breast implants.
