1. Specifications and Composition
PULPDENT KOOL-DAM is a dental material composed of aliphatic and polyurethane dimethacrylate oligomer/monomer in a light-cured, glass-filled paste. It contains hazardous ingredients such as aliphatic and polyurethane dimethacrylate oligomer/monomer (55-65%) and amorphous silica (5%). These components are classified as irritants and may cause eye, skin, and respiratory irritation.
2. Safety and Handling Procedures
In case of skin contact, wash with soap and water. If irritation occurs, seek medical attention. Protect the product from sunlight and store it at temperatures not exceeding 27°C (80°F). For first aid, move affected individuals to fresh air, wash skin thoroughly, and flush eyes with water. In case of ingestion, rinse the mouth and seek immediate medical attention.
3. Fire Fighting Measures
Suitable extinguishing media include carbon dioxide, dry chemical, alcohol foam, or water fog. Avoid using direct water streams. Firefighters should wear self-contained breathing apparatus.
4. Accidental Release Measures
Ventilate the area and wear safety glasses, gloves, and a lab coat. Absorb spills with suitable materials and dispose of them in a covered container. Clean the spill area with alcohol or soap and water.
5. Handling and Storage
Only dental professionals should use this product. Store it tightly capped in its original container at cool room temperature, avoiding direct light and temperature extremes. The shelf life is two years if stored properly.
6. Exposure Controls and Personal Protection
No special equipment is required under normal use. General ventilation is sufficient, and standard surgical gloves and safety glasses are recommended. An emergency eye wash fountain should be available.
7. Physical and Chemical Properties
The product is a light blue gel with a faint odor. It has a specific gravity of 1.290 and is insoluble in water.
8. Stability and Reactivity
Avoid temperature extremes and intense light. Hazardous polymerization may occur under fire conditions, releasing carbon monoxide and dioxide.
