Product catalog summary
Overview: The Reichert Digital EG-Chek is a three-in-one tool designed for precise measurement of Ethylene Glycol coolant properties, offering digital accuracy over traditional hydrometers. It measures freeze point, boiling point, and concentration of the coolant, ensuring optimal engine performance and protection.
Specifications: The device is available in Fahrenheit and Celsius models, with a digital refractometer method. It measures freeze point from 32 to -70°F (0 to -57°C) and boiling point from 242 to 356°F (117 to 180°C), with an accuracy of +/- 1°F and +/- 0.55°C. The concentration range is 0 to 95% with 0.2% accuracy. It features automatic temperature compensation at 68°F (20°C) and uses a 589nm LED for illumination.
Features: The EG-Chek provides over 10,000 measurements on two AAA batteries, with an auto-off sleep mode for power management. It is IP65 rated for dust and water resistance and complies with CE, RoHS, and WEEE standards. The device is ergonomically designed with a detachable neck lanyard and rubber side grips.
Applications: The tool is essential for engine coolant systems, ensuring the coolant maintains the correct chemical specifications to prevent engine damage. It is particularly useful in maintaining the optimal temperature for engine efficiency and longevity.
Comparison with Hydrometers: Traditional hydrometers are less accurate, with a potential error margin of +/- 23°F, whereas the EG-Chek meets ASTM D3321 standards with significantly higher accuracy.
Additional Products: Reichert offers a range of digital testers including Multi-Chek, Brake-Chek, Glycerin-Chek, and DEF-Chek models, each designed for specific testing needs.
Contact Information: Reichert Technologies is based in Buffalo, New York, with a European service center in Munich, Germany. Contact details include phone numbers and email for customer support.

Applications: Engine Coolant Systems EG-Chek Why take chances? For precise reading of Ethylene Glycol coolant concentration, hydrometers just don’t measure up. The Reichert Digital EG-Chek accurately and effectively tests Ethylene Glycol coolant Freeze Point, Boiling Point, and % Concentration. This fast, simple test provides greater peace of mind for your customers while increasing your service Our fast, accurate digital tester performs three critical tests on the engine coolant: Get dependable digital accuracy in a three-in-one tool! Measures Freeze Point of EG coolant: The Reichert digital EG-Chek’s Automatic Temperature Compensation (ATC) provides immediate, accurate, and direct readings at ASTM D3321 standard of +/- 1 degree F and +/- 0.55 degree C. This ensures that the coolant has a low freezing point, so there are no engine block or radiator freeze-ups when the vehicle is not in operation during the cold winter months. Measures Boiling Point of EG coolant: The engine coolant raises the boiling point of water in a vehicle’s cooling system. This guards against boil-overs, engine break-downs, and ensures that the cooling system is operating at peak efficiency (see back). Measures % Concentration: Measures the exact concentration of the Ethylene Glycol and water mixture to ensure the engine coolant is at the correct chemical specification. Detects for over-concentration or under-concentration of the coolant – either scenario will cause damage to engine components.
