Ocular Response Analyzer

Ocular Response Analyzer

Ocular Response Analyzer

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The Ocular Response Analyzer® by Reichert Technologies is a pioneering device in measuring corneal biomechanical properties, specifically Corneal Hysteresis (CH) and Corneal Compensated Intraocular Pressure (IOPcc). This device is crucial in the field of glaucoma management and corneal assessment.

Corneal Hysteresis (CH)
CH is defined as the difference in inward and outward pressure values during the applanation process, indicating the cornea's energy absorption capacity. It is a unique measure provided by the Ocular Response Analyzer, offering insights into the biomechanical properties of the cornea.

Glaucoma Relevance
Studies have shown that CH is a significant factor in glaucoma progression, more so than central corneal thickness (CCT). Low CH is associated with increased risk of glaucoma progression, making it a valuable tool for clinicians in assessing treatment needs and predicting IOP response to therapy.

Intraocular Pressure (IOP)
The Ocular Response Analyzer provides a Corneal-Compensated IOP (IOPcc) that accounts for biomechanical properties, offering a more accurate assessment than traditional methods like Goldmann tonometry, which are influenced by corneal properties.

Corneal Assessment
The device allows for a comprehensive assessment of the cornea based on biomechanical properties rather than geometry alone. CH and Corneal Resistance Factor (CRF) are particularly useful in evaluating conditions like keratoconus and in pre-operative assessments for refractive surgery.

Technical Specifications
The Ocular Response Analyzer features a dynamic bi-directional applanation process, a 160GB internal CPU, a 12.1-inch touch display, and complies with ISO 8612 Tonometer Standard. It offers objective measurements, improved repeatability, and a comprehensive patient management database.

Device Features
The device is designed for ease of use with features like a softer air-puff, faster automated alignment, and a compact hardware platform. It includes an integrated Keratoconus Match Index (KMI) software and optional motorized chinrest.

Conclusion
The Ocular Response Analyzer is a critical tool for clinicians, providing advanced insights into corneal biomechanics and aiding in the management of glaucoma and other corneal conditions.

Reichert® is Corneal Biomechanics. Reichert Technologies® pioneered the measurement of corneal biomechanical properties with the development of “Corneal Hysteresis” and Corneal Compensated IOP (IOPcc). Since the introduction of the Ocular Response Analyzer® in 2005, Reichert has continued to define the ocular biomechanics revolution. We are now pleased to announce the next generation Ocular Response Analyzer. (his ´ te re¯ ´ sis), n., [NL, fr. Ocular Response Analyzer-3

How it Works. The Ocular Response Analyzer utilizes a dynamic bi-directional applanation process to measure biomechanical properties of the cornea and the intraocular pressure of the eye. A precisely metered collimated air-pulse causes the cornea to move inwards, past applanation, and into a slight concavity. Milliseconds after applanation, as the air pulse force decreases, the cornea begins to return to its normal configuration. In the process, it once again passes through an applanated state. An electro-optical system monitors the curvature of the cornea throughout the deformation process taking...
