Product catalog summary
Introduction
Renishaw's LaserAbutments offer innovative advantages over traditional custom abutments. Made from CE marked cobalt chrome (CoCr), a material commonly used for crowns and implant bridges, these abutments provide several benefits, including the ability to create screw-retained crowns by simply adding porcelain.
Advantages
  • Screw-retained crowns are more cost-effective and quicker to create than abutment/crown combinations.
  • Standard non-precious porcelains can be bonded to the surface, which is more challenging with titanium.
  • CoCr is easy to re-polish after porcelain firing.
Manufacturing Process
LaserAbutments are produced using a high-tech computer-controlled process called 'laser melting', also known as '3D printing'. This additive process builds each framework in successive thin layers of 0.020 mm. A high-powered laser fuses selected areas of a powdered metal bed into a solid layer, creating a super-smooth, pre-polished emergence profile and implant interface.
Key Features
  • Supplied with a pre-polished emergence profile.
  • Compatible with major implant types.
  • Data can be taken from selected open CAD/CAM systems.
  • Free of nickel, cadmium, and beryllium.
  • Includes a titanium screw with each abutment.
  • Manufactured entirely in the UK using CE marked materials.
  • Produced using the 'laser melting' process for consistent results.
  • Manufactured in accordance with ISO 13485 standards.
