Product catalog summary
Introduction
This document provides technical information on the Spectromatch process used by RSLSteeper for creating custom silicone prosthetics. It includes details on procedures, specifications, and recommendations for achieving a near-perfect color match to the wearer's skin.

Checklist for Order Completion
  • Completed color chart
  • Casts
  • Digital images (on disc or email)
  • Purchase order
  • Prosthesis (if applicable)
  • Patient shoe (if applicable)
All items must be securely shipped, with casts wrapped well to avoid damage.

Color Matching Process
  • Spectromatch is an electronic color matching process ensuring a near-perfect match.
  • Silicone material is colored before sculpting, allowing for a translucent finish similar to human tissue.
  • Moulds are taken using alginate, and a check socket is provided for fit verification.
  • Training is available for new customers.

Photography Requirements
Digital images are necessary to capture details such as color blending, hair, veins, freckles, and tattoos. Images should include all aspects of the sound limb, with close-ups of nail details.

Cast and Casting Modifications
  • Cast modification ensures a proper fit over the residual limb.
  • For hands, feet, and digits, a reduction of 15-20% is needed for correct suspension and comfort.
  • Use alginate or silicone for moulds, filled with white stone plaster, and insert a solid steel bar into affected side casts.

Prosthetic Limb Considerations
  • The prosthetic limb must be provided for the manufacturing process.
  • A lightweight limb is recommended as silicone adds weight.
  • The limb should be a solid foam composite style to accommodate the silicone covering.
  • High activity limbs can be covered but may age faster.

Check Socket Manufacture
A check socket fit is recommended to ensure correct suspension and eliminate discomfort. Clear silicone check sockets are provided for partial hands, feet, and digits, returned within 7-10 days.

Using the Spectromatch Recorder
  • Calibrate the device with the cap in place by pressing the blue button.
  • Remove the cap, place the aperture on the skin, and press the blue button to take a reading.
  • Record the code number from the LCD display onto the color chart.
  • The system stores up to ten color codes, which can be reviewed or deleted as needed.

Additional Information
The Spectromatch recorder uses four standard “AA” batteries. Once deleted, code numbers cannot be retrieved.
