HAWK ™

HAWK ™

Product catalog summary
Introduction
The document discusses the HAWK™ Warming Grid, a non-toxic, temperature-controlled patient warming device designed to prevent and manage hypothermia. It emphasizes the importance of heat loss prevention, noting that hypothermia can occur regardless of ambient temperature and is easier to prevent than treat.
Device Features
  • Rapid Activation: The grid activates quickly and maintains an ideal output temperature even in harsh environments.
  • Heat Production: It consists of eight individually-sealed warming cells, each capable of providing constant heat for four hours. Cells can be used independently for desired warmth.
  • Temperature Range: The device achieves a minimum temperature of 100ºF and a maximum of 115ºF (37.7ºC–46ºC).
  • Heat Direction: The cells direct heat in one direction to maximize heat transfer and limit radiant heat loss.
  • Moisture Resistance: The grid activates when inner cells contact oxygen, allowing air but not liquid to pass through.
  • Non-Toxic and Disposable: The device is non-toxic and can be disposed of as general waste.

COLOR-CODED TRAUMA SYSTEM HEAD& HYPOTHERMIA HAWK WARMING GRID NON-TOXIC, TEMPERATURE-CONTROLLED PATIENT WARMING Heat loss prevention and management are critical. Hypothermia can occur regardless of ambient temperature, and is easier to prevent than treat. The HAWK™ Warming Grid provides active warming to aid in hypothermia prevention and assist with management. The grid activates rapidly and maintains an ideal output temperature, even in harsh environments. The HAWK produces constant heat from eight individually-sealed warming cells, capable of four hours each. Each cell can be used independently to provide the desired amount of warmth, and the peel tabs allow for an easy on-off capability. Ideal Output Temperature: The HAWK achieves a minimum temperature of 100°F and a maximum of 115°F (37.7°C-46°C)t The HAWK cells direct heat in one direction, maximizing heat transfer The warming grid activates when inner cells come into contact with oxygen, allowing air through, but not liquid (e.g., blood, rain, or snow) The non-toxic HAWK can be disposed of as general waste *From date of manufacture t Based on Safeguard Medical internal testing Devices included in this document may not be cleared or licensed for use or sale in your individual country.
